Black men have been attacking black women for centuries to justify their love of the lighter skin, while Black women have been staunchly supporting and protecting black men. Rarely do you see black women date outside of their race and when they do, it's even rare for it to be because they hate black men. So the reactions to looker ones are completely different. I'm generalizing of course. I have no problem with black men dating who ever they won't, but I truly can't stop my knee jerk reaction, cause I want to know am I looking at a Kanye or Chris Brown or am I looking at a Jamie Fox or Alfonso. One set trash black women or dark skin women, the other set have always uplifted black women, they just date or marry who they like though. It's sucks. And Too many black men are disappointing in this way. Look at Taye Digs. Black women lifted him up and celebrated him, what did he do? Trash us for white women. I have to disagree that interracial families in commercials are more “palatable” for whites. There are a lot of whites that don’t like the idea of a mixed race relationships/families too just like these women. So in the sense of a commercial it would actually be more “palatable” to the majority of whites if it was just a black family altogether. The rest is just crazy lmao. i think the main problem is the how much "black love" gets pushed onto the black community, and black people internalize it, especially black women because it's so heavily promoted. because the reality is this, most black men do marry out at a higher rate and do make the black woman the "come up woman" and leave her when he gets rich and famous. it happens all the time we see. so the best thing BW could do for themselves is go for a guy you have MUTAL attraction with and who is intelligent, whether he is black or non black. and just because he's non black doesn't mean you will get treated right, fuckery comes in all shades, that's common sense.... So going for someone who you're attracted too (mutually) with good character, regardless of colour is your best bet. do what is best for you, because as a collective black men do not care about / for black women like that, so you'd be wasting your time trying to "reserve" yourself just for them, who aren't doing the same for you, and end up missing out on someone else who could be good for you regardless of colour. p.s. if you worried about if you're his type, sis just check his IG and the models he follows that will tell you everything and save you a lot of time, and if he says "he doesn't have a type" it's cap, everyone subconsciously has one, they might like everything but not on the same level. .

I think Low was referencing the online black community with the dating outside the race point he made. He saw what she was talking about as a small portion of the wider trend of at least a portion of black woman assuming that black men date other races at a high rate. Playback and Dee had a point IMO about black representation. Playback is right that it’s kinda crazy to come for mixed relationships because of media representation. Why isn’t she instead upset at cheerios for how that commercial went instead of mixed couples? That’s why Agent and Low thought that was dumb. Dee has a point that using mixed relationships to substitute for black people is questionable, I think they would agree with that as well, just not that you should disagree with mixed relationships as a result.

I get the whole point about seeing an interracial family in commercials. You see that ALL the time in commercials in the UK. It’s that or just an all-white family. The one time they had a Christmas commercial where it was an all-black family, there was literal controversy behind it. I saw comments saying stuff like “This doesn’t represent a normal family/my family” or “Christmas in Nigeria”. Non-white people are so used to seeing “the perfect family” being represented as an all white family in adverts, that we don’t even complain. But the one time they make it an all-black family, it was a problem.

I have no problem with interracial dating (my husband is white, and we have three biracial children) However, palatable certainly has some validity to it. Look at movie roles and even elections that biracial people are put in and called black . Obama and K Harris, both are biracial, not black yet ran as black candidates . I think that there are layers to this type of thinking. I have an issue with the name calling and laughing because this woman is sharing something that she KNOWS doesn't make sense yet she's expressing it anyway. That takes courage. No one should insult or laugh at her for expressing her feelings no matter how illogical they seem. If she feels this way I can promise you there's plenty of women who are fully Black or biracial Black women who feel this way. Should it matter who dates who? No. Does it matter to some people? Yes. It's not uncommon for biracial children to feel similar to this woman. Especially Black women. It Aldo depends on your upbringing. If you're not raised with a strong sense of self and you're constantly being compared to your assimilation to whiteness it will fuck up the way you think about yourself. I see alot of biracial people, particularly Black women, who are either being forced to choose sides and if you don't choose your Black side then somethings wrong with you. Or if you choose your white side then you hate your Blackness. And if you're too dark the white people, depending on where you are, they won't accept you either. I have biracial nieces and nephews and unfortunately I don't really know them. I hope that they don't have these identity issues because its not their fault that society is fucked up. Like I said there's alot of layers to this and even though some of her feelings are illogical their HER feelings. But at least she's aware of how illogical it is. There's other Black women, biracial or not, who haven't gotten to where she is.

I can so relate to this! Let me just tell you a quick backstory of my childhood: I’m a Wasian (white & asian) and growing up I only grew up with everything on my dad’s side (who’s Asian) And he was also the one who raised me the most… There are wasians out there that really loved their life, but me…not at all But although I enjoyed the lifestyle I had as a kid, I still almost never learned anything about my so-called “mom” on her side…everything was focused of my dad… One time I started elementary school I got bullied with every morning the kids be greeting me with the slanted eyes, or this one mocking c-word nursery rhyme (trust me, this was just a quarter of the bullying) because some kids were assuming I was full Asian when I really wasn’t…there were even times as a kid I often wished I was born full-white or full-Asian…not because of my looks or anything, but only because I wanted friends… It took me a long time to accept and love myself as I am…and to accept that this is who I am, so yeah basically growing up was one hell of a nightmare… And then after school when I told my parents about the bullying, my dad gave me loads of advices while my mom gave 0…she only seemed to not pay attention to me, my dad was the only spotlight for her Until Heaven granted my wish and they finally got divorced few years on and since then I have been happily living with my dad, and he finally realized that he married a freak I never want to see again ❤ And now because of this, everytime I see an Asian dating a white person anywhere I always wish them harm, especially if it’s an Asian dude doing it :/ These women in this video I can 100% agree with their opinions and I stand with them!! ❤

I hate that this is a constant debate online and sometimes even in person. There is nothing that says we can't date outside of our own race. No law controls that at all and thank God it doesn't. We weren't put on this earth by whoever people believe in to segregate and stay away from each other. We are all supposed to love each other no matter the color of our skin. But people love to base everything off color and it's stupid. In my opinion, change is never gonna happen until people from both sides concede to trying to understand the other. People are so divided by race on even a personal level. When I was in school, practically all races sat in different sections. Black people assume all white people are bad and racist, so they stay secluded in their own groups in spite. And obviously a shitload of white people don’t understand the subconscious bias they have for people who have different cultural aspects that go against the white norm. But white people also don’t make the effort because black people are now prejudice in spite of this. No sides want to try to work towards getting closer, and specifically the black community expects white people to cater to them by complaining online. It is right and fair for white people to cater and make the effort, but that is not what is going to incite change. We aren’t going anywhere with this attitude
