I find a 70-210mm zoom nice for aviation (the only telephoto-ish lens that I until recently had). 210mm might be self explanatory, plane go high. But I also find myself going all the way down to 70mm with it at airshows. When a plane or especially formation of planes are coming really low, they're closer than you'd think, and 210mm would crop out some of the formation. With that said I recently got a pretty nice Konica Hexanon 135mm prime lens. That might be a good middle ground.

How would you suggest I improve, out of genuine curiosity
@orion774111 ай бұрын
@@acecreates some good ways to improve is repetition, self inspection, expanding your inspiration base, and also upgrading equipment. We all have a certain thing (or things) that we are naturally drawn to and captures our attention, I would encourage you focus on what yours is and then just do that. find what you truly love to take images of and just focus on those images. Then do it, alot. thats where repetition comes in. the more pictures you take, the more skilled your "eye" will become in framing and composing images that have life and story to them. with your images, look over them without any personal bias. allow yourself to criticize and find faults with your images, take away any personal emotions that you may have with them. Also, buy other peoples photography books. could be famous people or just other photographers that are putting out "zines". use other peoples creativity to inspire you to see things differently and to approach your own images in a different aspect that you would not have done previously. While the equipment is not going to magically make you a super talent, upgrading from what you are using in this video would be a step in the right direction and would help with some better image quality. that minolta is pretty much just MEH... that lens is trash. the lens especially is what you want to throw your money at in regards to camera gear. if you can, pick up a Nikon F3. or even a F4s. then get a great lens and you will be set. Most importantly of all is that you make sure that your images tell a story. nearly all the images you showed in this video just felt like they were haphazdly taken snapshots from somebodys vacation. there was no life or essence to them. focus on taking images that convey to the viewer a story of what was happening in that instance that you triggered the shutter. hope this is helpful to you.
