I was at the game, had pretty good seats. Even tho the stat sheet may not show it pg was a great addition to the team. What he provided can not be measured in stats but you could clearly see there was more ball movement, creatively, screens and maxey was able to move around more freely. When pg was not on the court it was maxey against the world dribbling up the court and not one other 6er pro one any type of help. They were all just standing around the 3 pt line watching. Also the refs were blind to all of kds hard contact with both Caleb and oubre.

11:51 I actually don’t mind this mindset for PG considering the first 6 games we watched everybody besides Maxey and Oubre be scared to shoot so we need that mentality. However I wish that mentality would have gotten him atleast 20 in his debut then we could have won. The blame on the final possession goes to Nick Nurse tho because as the coach it is his job to delegate and we had a TO to call to draw a play up.

The Sixers played great and it’s really encouraging compared to what we saw before. The #1 reason we lost is because PG was taking over driving in the final 5 min and he is just not on the same page with our role players. He would collapse the D and then kick and there were a bunch of turnovers and bad shots because people weren’t in the right spot and the passes weren’t great. But this is all going to take time to develop and get better over time. To be honest, if you wanted to win the game then Maxey should have had the ball, but you’re going to have to get experience with PG having the ball down the stretch too so I don’t mind it. I just think it would have been good to maybe alternate possessions of Maxey/PG in the final 5. Also, the no timeout at the end is a bit frustrating, but I don’t hate just letting PG just go out there and see what he can do. No reason not to give him a shot at it and then reevaluate/learn from it for later.
@ThePhanJam762 ай бұрын
How are we not calling out PG being unaware of the score and assuming they were only down 1 instead of 2??? That’s a lot more egregious than his self-centered evaluation of the play, and whether that’s his or Nurse’s fault, it’s unacceptable to not be aware of the score in the final seconds when you’re the one taking the last shot.

Being in the midst of a rebuild right now, there isn’t a doubt in my mind that if Nick Nurse was still our coach that Garrett Temple would be playing 30 minutes a game and Gradey Dick would be sitting on the bench twiddling his thumbs. Still a clippers fan because of Kawhi Leonard PG is a good player, but I guarantee you he don’t see Maxey as the better player he’s playing. He divert to Joel Embiid, but to Maxey, you gonna have a issue that you just had, maybe cause it was his first game back but at the same time, Maxey had 32 points he should’ve seen that he was the one who had it going. But this is what the selfish side comes in. I wish you success with PG and if you can get Joel and be back playing ball but that’s gonna be some issues for sure.
@RicardoHerbert-vp9lb2 ай бұрын
Usually the talented wing player is taking the last shot or is the first option at the end of the game. Thought that was one of the reasons he was brought in. During the game he is the third option, Joel is much more talented at his position and Maxey has the young legs and energy but at the end of the game he should be the closer just like Jimmy was for us year back. He is right in between Maxey and Joel with his blend of size, speed, skill, experience, and ability to draw fouls. Curious to hear cross opinions on this. And if not him then who? Somebody has to wear the crown.

I think we dont need to have a predictable go to guy even if one of them has been hot all game. The best weapon we have is three 1A 1B players and being too obviois about who's gonna take the last shot is undermining our roster. I think PG actually took a good shot. As a raptors fan… nurse always wanted long players. Small ball was not a thing for the raptors. They didn’t depend on the 3 to win the chip… it was a balanced team that could go inside and out and played defence.

Hopefully we have a normal team/front office in 4 years when Maxey is in his prime

I actually thought yabu did well at center. Playing Bona aint the answer. In limited minutes Bona has shown he does know what he's doing on the court yet, he needs to play more in the g League. Yabu played way better than Drummond.

I think Nurse does play young guys when he has confidence in him. He's playing McCain and the last two games now he's hit 3s.

He played McCain for 3 minutes…

I haven’t seen much to impress me with Nurse. His coaching style is undeniably similar to Doc but everybody’s a lot nicer to Nurse

He was good at making in-game adjustments and changing up the defensive looks to confuse the opposing offenses in Toronto. That's about it.
