hi eric, im from canada and have the same machine, was in excellent shape when i got it but totally tore it down in pieces,cleaned and repainted it, mine is a late 1975 unit and has some updates like bigger bore on spindle to accept 5c collets, also larger rear spindle bearings [9110 vesus 7208] angular contact, my electronics were upgraded before i got it, larger box added on to machine to accomodate internals, not sure if its origional but the 3 speed switch is a newer looking drum switch witch rotates, just an all around excellent high precision machine, not sure if you got some work done on it but im sure youll be very happy with this. i got the DR1 LS meaning long bed and hardened ways, im sure u know all this by now, ill be happy to help out with questions if possible, came with all change gears,

That is an exceptionally well built machine. To what extent are you planning to restore it ? Can we expect more videos ? How difficult is it to find accessories for it ?
@eriksnel64613 жыл бұрын
I am not going to restore it, it has had maintenance and i got all of the standard accesories for it. And a good clean. But as i am using it quite a lot i am not restoring it. I keep it technically in good state but how the paint looks is not important. And yes all the original stuff i get from a Hembrug dealer. They have all the parts new old stock so there are plenty of parts available. And other stuff like tooling and drillingheads i buy at HBM tools

@@eriksnel6461 Thanks. Could you please share the contact details of that Hembrug dealer for parts ? I live in Sweden and it would be nice being able to get some parts.

Tought about a VFD ? I installed two on lathes, continuous variable speed is nice to have. What kind of motor is on it ?
@eriksnel64614 жыл бұрын
Aart Schipper i dont know exactly, i’ll have to check. But all the hembrug lathes have the fixed speeds and to be honest i have never felt that i missed certain speeds between the set values. However there is a variable speed version which is a rare type. But it may be an option yes

@@eriksnel6461 According to Google it is a triple speed motor. If this is a Dahlander with an extra speed a VFD would need to be 380V, not 230 1-phase input, and you can only use one speed on the motor. To get the full advantage and torque with a VFD you would probably need a new motor (wich are mostly cheap and standard) - but this might indeed not be very attractive.

It could be a dahlander but i can’t find a brand name and type on it. I know they are also there with a Heemaf motor. But two new relais cost me about 100 euro which is the cheapest option
