Thanks for your videos, mate. Your insights helped convincing me. I closed the (slightly sketchy) deal on C30 D4 R-Design and just got it delivered this week. Undescribable and underappreciated car.

It really is something special, I'm glad I could be of help in making the decision 😊

No issue at all for my c30, custom made rims with custom setting forged wheels with any design you want

You are going to need to build a bigger loft for all of your wheels/tires haha I still think the Metallah are #1 ! A very nice collection, and cat :)
@VinnesAutoАй бұрын
Haha 😂 Yeah, ai guess so, and probably another garage while I'm at it! The metallah are great, they also make the C30 look even more modern than it already does.

Hi mate, very nice car I have to say. I've watched few of your videos. The best wheels for Volvo C30 in my opinion are Atreus 7.5 X 18in - Volvo (31414009). They are very expensive but they look so good.
@VinnesAutoАй бұрын
Thanks :) Yeah, I have always wanted a set of Atreus, since before I bought my first C30.

@@VinnesAuto Yeah, I figured. I am planning to buy C30, currently driving V50, so the same P1 chasses, so I am actively looking for Arteus 18 since they are both rare and expensive. But I really think they look the best. All the best, cheers

That's a lot of wheels :D I think like the wheels that are currently on your C30 the most. And that cat needs to be a proper thing in your videos haha :D
@VinnesAutoАй бұрын
Yeah, those ones do look really good! The crazy thing is that I literally just stumbled upon them, and got them for 300 euros! (With bad tires). Cat cameos are always a good thing 😂

I kinda think that these huge rims are not suited for ford focus suspension. I have a v50 and waiting for Spider r17 to pop up for sale. Just noticed in your wash video that yours is D4, must be fun, especially since it's a lighter hatchback. Mine is D3 with DPF deleted, pulls very nicely, for some reason it's faster 25-125kmh than BMW E91 320D 135kw. Do you still use a5/b5 oil in yours?

Depends on the roads you drive on I guess. I have even seen them on 20s. I have had 17s and 18s, and I find that 18s are the sweet spot for responsiveness to comfort rario. 19s would be overboard in my opinion, but then again, Volvo used 19s on the C30 PCP.

@@VinnesAuto I have r16 Convector at the moment and the ride is kinda rough tbh. I heard that r17 with 215/50 or 55 tires might make the car more comfortable and make the ground clearance higher, which would be helpful in my situation, because my spring are weak at 306k km and pipes sometimes scrape the curb when I park

@@deez023 Well, it's not a luxury sedan either, so it's never going to ride on pillows. I prefer to feel the road beneath me, but to each their own. I am lowered on Bilstein coilovers too, so it's never going to be particularly comfortable. I had a set on my previous C30 with stock R-design suspension that was 235/40r18, and I though the car was really comfortable on those. What can also help if you're after comfort is choosing a wider tire in relation to your wheel width. those were 18x7.5 wheels, originally fitted with 215/45r18, but having it wider compared to wheel size makes the sidewall have less tension. Too a degree, of course, you can't go too wide either. you could for instance go with 225/50r17 on a 7" wide Volvo spider wheel. that would give you about the same outer diameter as my new winter wheels at 225/45r18 but with one inch more tire. What tire you choose also influence the ride a lot. my sports tires are the same size as my daily driver tire, but there is a great difference in both noise and comfort, but at the expense of high speed handling stability and responsiveness. There is no tire that does it all.

I use A5/B5 0w30 Castrol edge for half the year( winter time) and LL 5w30 Castrol edge for the other half. That gives me about a 10 000 km Interval which is ideal If you actually care about your engine. I use 5w30 in summer because it protects slightly better under hard use and high temperatures than 0w30.

@@VinnesAuto I came to conclusion that a5/b5 oil is just environmental requirement and it is a bare minimum for this engine. I can't find any info that they changed the tolerances for the 2l d5 engines compared to 2.4l d5s in the s60 mk1 for example and those cars work on 40 weight oil without a problem (volvo penta marine d5 engine also uses 40 weight oil). I switched from Mobil1 ESP LV 0W30 to RAVENOL SSO 0W30 A3/B4 oil, which has 12cst at 100C compared to 9.7 that Mobil has. My car car doesn't have dpf anymore, so I don't worry about ash content. In spring I want to try 0w40 oil for the next summer season. I also change at 10k km if it's full synthetic with PAO.

Have you ever put 19 in. Wheels on the c30? Or would they not fit?
@VinnesAutoАй бұрын
I myself haven't no, but that's only because 18s are the sweet spot for the C30s on the road. 19s are more for show and 18s are for go if you get what I mean. I have even seen them on 20s. The C30 PCP uses 19" BBS-es.
