Anjali Menon..I'm from Bangalore and never did I try speaking Malayalam.Around a year back,I watched your movie Bangalore Days & Ustad Hotel! I have to say this! I love your films and you just proved that language is just a barrier, there is much more to cinema! Huge respect for the sensitivity and naiveness in the interview! Class personified! Looking for more of your works👍

the luckiest part of Malayalam film industry is that they have got such wonderful mature audiences that they are able to understand and appreciate all sort of stories and all other aspects of film making that exists in this world and by audience I mean the most ground level of people, may be an auto wala or vegetable vendor or housemaker alongwith the youth which is the new generation. And with that the best aspect of film industry is that they have excellent producers who is ready to put money on any good project irrespective of stars and the industry has excellent intelligent writers and directors who think and are willing to tackle any subject. Ofcourse finally the industry has such great and talented stars be it hero, heroine, character artistes, villains all of whom just want to make a good movie and hence ready to take any risk and challenges and not at all worried only about remuneration or their image.

The title is VERRRRRRY misleading and useless. I just watched because it was Anjali Menon ! and glad did not get distracted by just the title. High time to change the click-bait tactics, if you had put just "Interview with Anjali Menon", that would have been a better click-bait! Beautiful and inspiring backdrop, soooo refreshing. The younger crop of actors are doing very differebt and unique films now which is true. At the same time, mammootty and mohanlal did the same while they started out in the 80's and 90's. Their body of work is applaudable considering the massive range of films and very unique characters these two actors have played in the past 25 to 30 years. Like Anjali rightly said, mammootty's ponthanmada and vidheyan and add to it mrugaya...wow!! Thumbs up to these two versatile actors. Nammal malayalikaludey abhimaanam

I think when it comes to South Indian cinema we thought there is lots of action and all, and there is lots of south industries which has there dubbed version in hindi but malayalam movie don't have any dubbed version even sometimes I can't find subtitles so it's little difficult to watch. But Malayalam cinema is so poetic and beautiful.I loveeeeeee malayalam cinema. I love Nazriya, Dulquer, parvathy, Fahadh.. They are just awesome.

Being educated really opens our eyes and lets us think of the world as a common platform for all humans, with equal opportunities, sans discrimination. Kudos to her observations!

I think the question about women-centric movies by women filmmakers is very relevant. I of the key reasons why the male filmmakers have failed to create good women characters in their movies is because of their lack of understanding of women psyche. They treat women character from my outsider perspective. It holds true even in the case of Adaminte Variyellu, which I assume Anjali is referring to when she mentioned KG George.I think that is the difference that women filmmakers can bring in. They will be able to bring in the women's perspective, the way they think and see things. That's why women filmmakers are better positioned to give us good women characters in movies.

Thanks fpr mentioning Ranjith's Kayoppu.. Some of the new age 'intellectuals' keep bashing Ranjith for his more commercial movies - while he has done more for aspiring screenwriters.

As a Malaysian Malayalee...i would agreed with her that the content of the movies are very very important. A content of the movie that is unique and differ with a style. I hope that she would also venture in Hindi movie and even English movie that features malayalee actors and actresses.

Very apt when she said that those who make films now grew up watching the 80s and 90s movies. Such a refined and sensitive director.
