Sometimes forgiving someone isn't to forgive them but to give yourself peace. Although there are people who act upon cruel intentions like the examples you gave, you deserve peace. Why suffer for the actions of those you cannot control? You do not have to forgive to not have enemies, but it will simply be a burden of hatred on your shoulders that only you can carry.
