I trust that you will be honest about this because I have seen it here many times. I think a lot of people don't realize I started out tent camping because they have joined the channel during the van years... but in all reality tent camping was a very different experience in my life and it was filled with miles and miles of hiking and many Mountain House meals which is why I am now so avid about sharing it since I have found my voice in my videos more so.

Definitely give them a shot. I think that you’ll really like them if you like bold flavors. I highly suggest the chicken and mashed potatoes for those colder evenings especially or the evenings that you just feel like you put yourself through it. It’s so comforting.

Absolutely especially whenever I was at Menards and I could see the packaging side-by-side for the first time on the shelf. I was like wow I love how this really pops out and then when I saw Bass Pro up against all of the other mountain health as well as other brands it really pops because of the brightness of the colors and of course I know how delicious that the flavors are so it just made my mouth water.

It was so hard not to tell you guys because I knew everyone would be so excited who is already a mountain house fan! Bringing back a dish that was so loved but then also adding to that two new meals is so epic!!! The packaging very sharp looking and really brings the eye off of the shelves and the meals themselves. That is always my goal is to make my channel user-friendly for not just those who are already adventuring, but also those who might be getting ready to adventure. In this particular case, I think that a lot of people are scared of meals like this because they don’t understand just how easy that they are so I wanted to give a step-by-step user-friendly Walk-through at the end of the video for those who were interested in learning how to make them. But I put it in a separate section of the video so for those who don’t necessarily need that particular instruction, they don’t have to sit through that portion and can get to the meet and potatoes of the new meat and potatoes in the meals, lol

I watched several creators on KZbin and a lot of them are more advanced and tend to forget that not everyone starts out on the same level that they do, but even though you are a very advanced camper, you always remember that someone has to start out somewhere and you consider them and that is appreciated. I am glad more people are getting out and enjoying the spaces that we have enjoyed as a family for a long time. People like yourself are encouraging them to get out and do it responsibly by picking up after themselves and also being safe while being out by having the proper equipment. Keep up the good work.

In a small space, you learn little tips and tricks to put things away so that they stay together and also are easier to access. That’s what started out the dry bag for me but along the way I found it to be super handy on really bad weather days because then I don’t end up getting water on the meals and then having to drive them down which even though the exterior keeps the interior from getting wet I just don’t like all that extra moisture up in my roof box lol

Yes, this is absolutely why I encourage people to pick up these for their preparedness meals. You can keep these on the shelf for an extensive amount of time and if you’re ever in a pinch with bad weather, you can grab them and make them pretty easily just with some boiling water and it’s really a great option. For example, here at Basecamp, I have a power station that I can plug in an electric kettle to and within four minutes I have boiling water that I can use to make these amazing meals. I have a small camping stove, which I found at Walmart for only $19 that I can keep on hand in case for some reason I don’t have power

I am going to break my comment down in the several comments to help boost the engagement on this video because I have said time and time again that you deserve more eyes on your channel. You are a wonderful content creator, and I feel as though sometimes you get lost in the mix online because of the diversity. That diversity, however, is why I find you to be so intriguing. Your professionalism over the past few years has really continued to shine through as you’re editing has improved. Your flow has improved, and the overall comfort in front of the camera has improved. I have been saying for at least the past two years that you deserve a much bigger platform, and I stand as a person who works in the industry, I am not sure why more people are not tapping into you as a resource. You are knowledgeable about the subject matters that you speak on and as you have coined the term brain wrinkles for your educational videos I have seen numerous people comment about how they wish that you would give independent tours to locations or how that you would have been their teacher whenever they were in school because of the way that you tell stories and bring people into the plot and make them relate to the subject matter even though it could’ve happened hundreds of years ago. I cannot say that I will continue to shout from the top that you deserve a bigger platform. I also have shared your videos with others in the industry in hopes that someone will grab onto you.

I always appreciate you for this.. my channel is designed to inspire others to get out there and live life more fully and with that you are correct it is more split in the content as I share my own experiences which might not be for everyone on every adventure. I always hope by sharing the diversity of places I visit and the travel methods I use that it shows people there is no one way to travel or find adventure and all of us can do it even if for a day or a weekend or as a van person full or part time!!! I always say the right people stumble upon my videos when they need them.. sometimes that is just when they are looking for a museum others when they are planning to start their vanlife endeavor. Pretty sure I have told you this before, but until I saw your channel, I had never known what a Mountain House meal was. I have one of the boxes that I keep at my house for bad weather. if I learned anything it was that things can get really bad really fast and so I bought a small gas stove, a tiny power and one of the boxes so that my family will be OK if we for some reason do not have power. We were affected by the hurricanes a few years back and it put us in a really bad way but now I feel a lot better if that happens again. There is nothing like seeing your kids about meals. We also had a talk about expectation during those times versus entitlement. I want to thank you Bunny for talking about things like this because people like me who never will camp probably in their lifetime now have access to something that could be life-saving all because we wanted to watch a few videos of some pretty places that you went. You are a joyous blessing.

Yes, this brand has brought me so much comfort along the way. Well before a lot of people joined my channel following my van adventures when I was tent camping I found these to be some of the most useful things that I could’ve found. Days at camp looked a lot different than they do now and so because of that, I needed something that would work well for those days, and this was the brand that I found and aligned with, and the more that I learned the more that I realized that the brand, and I truly do align on a fundamental way as well. I have been using them for seven years and I think that a lot of people who have come along later on my channel think that it’s just because I’m an ambassador, but in all reality it’s because I’ve turned to this brand in so many of my adventures well beyond being an ambassador. I’ve mentioned before we enjoy the outdoors and specifically enjoy climbing, and so we have consumed our fair share of mountain House meals over the years. I wasn’t sure what your big announcement was going to be whenever you unveiled there was something in a box but now I know why you’ve been holding it for so long and I am very excited that they are launching something that looks a little different. You’re absolutely correct window dressing matters. It brings people into the stores and keeps them shopping. So this is just a form of window dressing to make sure that people can see what’s inside because for those of us who have known what was inside, we are already excited, but for those who are new, this will make them just as excited as we have already been so that they can see those quality delicious flavors. Lol nothing wrong with that. They are quite tasty and so simple to make so on a long day. I can definitely see turning to them. I’ve done that with the chili Mac a few times whenever I just wanted a free pie. There’s something about the flavors of the chili Mac that just are really good with some chili cheese Fritos lol

You should start seeing them roll out, and if they are not available yet at the Bass Pro some of the new packaging should be. Do they make Keto meals? I'm diabetic with high blood pressure, I need something like this for my van adventures but with low-sodium no-sugar meals. Most of these pouch freeze-dried meals don't accommodate us diabetics. By the way, I've been watching your channel for a year now, and your energy and enthusiasm is infectious! I love your channel!

one of the commenters mentioned that she purchases the #10 cans for meat options and uses them in her keto prep... another person mentioned in doing this they save with specials which allow them to purchase and presort for individual meal serving sizes. However also since I am not as familiar with Keto personally I would suggest looking on the sorting filters on the website and seeing if you find anything which works within those dietary restrictions. I am sorry I am not as well versed in keto personally. I always try.... but i am the first to admit when I also do not know specifics!!

I have seen since watching your videos, several other companies which have advertised talking about how they are American and so I think it was a wise move to put front and center the made in the USA tag. I will not mention the other brands, but there are several that try to target a very specific American and from what I have looked into their meals just simply do not compete with the quality and value of these. Not to mention as you mentioned in this video, you can make these meals in the pouch versus those which I do believe require you to take them out and use a pan of some kind. So this is very wise to provide this information front and center to deter people from falling victim to the deceptive marketing practices of the other brand..

A while back I picked up a few of the cans on a special and I pre-packaged serving sizes to make it easier to use. With the price of beef these days it’s cheaper to buy the cans of the beef that it is to get meat at the store so it’s been helpful.

My SUV camp style is "keep it simple" so appreciate MH meals. Can I challenge you to "stretch" a couple of the entrees (most bags serve 2) for us to make MH a more affordable meal - not just an entree.

I do that sometimes.. other times I do not.. depends on what the activity of the day happens to have been. On big days I eat a single pouch.. on other days I will spread it out using something to stretch ... such as beef stew I like to make my own hand pies which I have an older video of.. those are delicious...

That’s a great question. I would definitely suggest the beef stew or the beef stroganoff potentially the beef lasagna or the spaghetti with beef marinara. I also think you might like the chili Mac with beef. These are all great options for something a little bit different without chicken in it.!!

I recommend the pasta primavera or the veggie chorizo breakfast scramble these are both great.. however I know they do get a lot of requests for others so they are working toward bringing more to life in the future from what we have been told!! So keep posted.. as soon as they bring more I will make sure to share!!!
