Thx for the review I was actually contemplating wether I should buy Powell wheels or not
@Molly-ss4fw3 жыл бұрын
If you're using them for freeride stuff tho definitely get snakes, maybe not the black ones. They're soft so they're more likely to chunk but the SSF thane they use is just unbeatable.
@juliaabatemarco35323 жыл бұрын
Faulty set maybe? I had three sets of Snakes so far, not in black, 2 red and 1 green (and as much as people go on about it I will never be convinced that the coloring doesn't affect the urethane because sometimes different colors feel quite different, particularly when you use them for sliding) and they don't seem to chunk. That huge chunk after less than an hour of flat ground cruising is really not normal anyway and unacceptable, glad you had a replacement from the shop. Cool videos btw, I really like the channel.

They are not meant to be freestyled they arent a trickwheel. They are meant to be ridden downhills for slides and freeriding. Also if your wheel chunks you can actually superglue the chunked bit back on the wheel. It works and it lasts.
@OgdenSikel3 жыл бұрын
Watch my newer videos. I’m already aware of this. Also the wheel chunked just riding down a road...I didn’t do any freestyle on it yet. I have no idea where it chunked so I can’t glue it back

Hey I mean atleast there going to send you a free set of wheels! Also question my dinghy has been having creaking noises and I saw your earlier video about making your board silent with wax, could I do that with some bar soap? thanks

Oof, Powell Snakes are really good learning wheels.....for freeride (slides). They have a really soft formula (hence the SOFT slide Formula) at about 75a. For freestyle (the style you are doing) you want something in like the 80a-84a. The only downside to these wheels is they tend to chunk and that's especially true with the black ones. When you combine that with landing tricks, peices are bound to fall out (idk why yours dropped such a big piece tho). They're not really made for freestyle. For that you might want to check out any Blood Orange wheels, Seismic encores, etc. Those all have a big core (if that's what you're looking for) and they're a little harder (78a-84a I think) that combination will give you a good response when you land tricks. If you do get your other set I'd highly recommend you learn some slides on them because after all that's what they're made for.
@OgdenSikel3 жыл бұрын
Thank you dude for the suggestions, much appreciated! Also That’s good to hear cuz I’m planning on learning more slides this summer!!
@waltersensei91223 жыл бұрын
@@OgdenSikel That would be so cool. Freeride is easily my favorite style of riding. Your videos are awesome and adding different styles would make them even better. Even though I guess you already do a lot of styles 🤔. I liked the skateboarding video you made btw, adds a little variety.

Are black less slidey. I just got some and found them to be extremely sticky. They suck for slides IMHO.

And I just ordered some black G-Slides. Hopefully those are better.
@admirnasic21563 жыл бұрын
Snakes are meant for freeride and downhill they are really soft and have a high rebound so that they feel nice thats also why they are prone to chunking if you bash them into the ground. Get some harder wheels for dancing and freestyle or just land all your tricks perfectly so you dont chunk them more. Also that chunk aint even that big and it honestly wouldnt affect anything, i curbed my old set at about 60kmh and they chunked just a bit more than that
@Molly-ss4fw3 жыл бұрын
A chunk that size would affect the rate at which it wears though, and probably eventually lead to it becoming ovalled or flat spotted without maintenance. Otherwise yeah it doesn't actually affect much
@admirnasic21563 жыл бұрын
@@Molly-ss4fw It would still be good for a really long time but yeah at somepoint it would start becoming a bit ovalled and they would still be good for lower speed sliding

U mean cheetah hawgs dual duro wheels? Those are fkn huge and wide, also heavy. They are meant for downhill racing and absolutely not for what this dude in the video is doing.
@hylanderOP3 жыл бұрын
High rebound makes them really prone to chunks Their freeride/ downhill wheels. Since your doing freestyle it kind of makes sense that they chunked. Snakes aren't made for impact.
@OgdenSikel3 жыл бұрын
Not true, I’ve done freestyle with them for months now and they haven’t chunked again since that time…also when they did chunk all I was doing was riding down a street…no tricks.
@cdixon1982 жыл бұрын
Dude they’re slide wheels not meant for freestyle. It’s made out of soft slide formula. Get some cloudride slushees if you want freestyle slide wheels.
@LiefRunsFar3 жыл бұрын
I use some Sector Nine wheels that have duel durometer. I like them a lot. I also have the largest wheels Orangatang make, with a plastic core. They are way large. I'd recommend some of their smaller wheels for the riding you so.
