I have sad news about giving birth

I have a report for you.
Mimi gave birth to four kittens on May 9th.
However, three of them had already died.
I had them checked at the hospital, but I didn't know the cause.
The kitten that was born safely weighs only about 70g.
The cry and movement are also very weak.
Every time I take my eyes off the kitten, I'm worried that the kitten will die.
It's a relief to see the kitten breathing.
The kitten started drinking Mimi's milk, but when listened to a doctor, I'm in a situation where I can't let my guard down.
Unexpected events make it difficult to organize my mind, I'm really sorry for the late report to you.
To be honest, we are very shocked.

For those who don't know, in the future, cats and dogs have much shorter labors than humans. If you see your cat taking a long time or straining and crying as this one did, get it to a vet immediately. Sometimes the kittens are too big for her to be able to birth, especially if the male cat was much larger than her or if it is her first-time birth or if the cat is too young. Or if one is sideways in the birth canal. If her placentas have separated, the kittens are not getting oxygen while still inside her. When they do come out, if they don't start breathing and crying right away, make sure the mama nuzzles, cleans and moves the kitten around. They need to get moving right away to breathe. If she doesn't take to it right away, give the kittens resuscitation, by gently using your thumb to give a little push right under the ribs above their abdomen. Just like the Heimlich. You can even give them mouth to mouth, but gently. You can also empty fluids from their nose, mouth and lungs by very, very gently turning them upside down in your hand with two fingers supporting their head, neck and back, and give them just a tiny shake downward. The main thing is if you suspect any issues, get them all to a Vet. Unless there was some other pregnancy problem not mentioned in these Mimi videos, these kittens could have been saved by a Cesarean Section way earlier on in her labor. Also , sometimes the mama cat can also die, if she can't deliver. And when a mama has this much trouble you want to make sure she delivered ALL the kittens. On occasion one doesn't come out. If you don't know how to check to be sure, again a Vet will know how to help her with hands, drugs, or the C-Sec. A dead kitten that remains in her womb can make her very sick or even be fatal.

As far as I know, in Munchkins it happens quite regularly that kitten die prior to birth because of the accumulation of genetic defects. The kittens are genetically not viable. The Munchkin breed is itself a breed which features genetic defects (abnormal bone growth of their limbs) as a breed feature. So I am, also as a biologist, hoping that people stop breeding genetically defect animals (meaning features that imply a restriction in the animals life quality like shortened airways in pugs or persian cats, abnormalities in the limbs that cause back pain later in life like the Dachshund, or osteoarthritis, like in the Munchkin breed).

I always helped my cat in her birth, once her kitty born without even moving or something, i was already crying, i was like 7-8 years old, then it started moving and breathing and i gently hugged her (the newborn kitty) All her siblings born healthy, but sadly my parents didnt wanted too many cats, only one (the mom), always when my cat gives birth (She's in heat these times so we're locking her in the house) my parents sell the kitties to somebody next to our home/city, they are well raised in other homes too I really really love cats tbh, i always got sad when my parents needed to sell the kitties because i loved them, also im gonna have a niece in some months :)

My friend breeds dogs and I was present for a littering. First one came about 30 minutes after the mom went into labor, she was pretty small (but not abnormally small). Then there was a 2 hour gap. My friend got worried. She called her vet friend (it was like 10 pm) and she said if my friend was worried, to get in there and help her along (the dog is a larger breed so there's room for some fingers). Turned out there was a malformed pup that was sidways and the next viable puppy was stuck and tangled with it. My friend was able to help the puppies out and the rest of the litter came fine. Still lost one more puppy for unknown causes, but the 4 surviving puppies are BEAUTIFUL! This was the 4th or 5th litter that my friend had worked with and she's worked closely with her vet in those previous litters so she had some experience to be able to help her dog herself. If possible a vet is the best option when complications arise.

I’m sure she knows why their gone. And it’s quite heartbreaking to know this. My cat had kittens and one of them died, she kept licking it to revive it, she kept crying to my mom to help, but she couldn’t do anything, I wasn’t there as it was early In the morning, but when my mom tells me about it she is certain coco knew, but only tried to do everything she could.

For purebred kittens such as these, sometimes mucus can be trapped in the airways at birth. I am so sorry for your loss. For future litters, I suggest watching Persian kittens being born, and there is a method that may help anyone who sees kittens struggling just after birth. Pick up the kitten, gently coax its mouth open with your thumb, holding its body with your two hands behind its back cradling it, and holding its mouth gently partly open, lift it high above your head, then swing forward and down between your spread legs (with your arms straight as though you were swinging an ax to chop wood) while standing. Their bodies should be positioned so that their heads are pointing down at the bottom of the swing. This may sound strange, but it can help to dislodge the plugged mucus from the airways. I recommend doing it 2-4 times, or until the kitten meows and shows signs of breathing on its own. Be careful not to let go of the kitten while attempting this emergency move. I have assisted many kitten births, and this method was taught to me by an exotic cat vet specialist. I hope it helps, and I am so happy tiny kitten survived.

I fear she's too fragile to have another pregnancy and if any more kittens die she may be depressed. Im sorry for this. It might have been that the father and mothers bloodgroups dont match. Then the kittens dies. Thats why its soooo so important that the owners are serious breeders that does bloodgroup-chech before letting the catmom get pregnant.

Same happened to my cat a year ago, the 2 kittens who survived are now healthy and happy, I hope your kitten has the same luck

It's very sad to hear that three of four kitties have already gone. Maybe I am wrong, but is it something related to genetic issues? Since I have learnt that Scottish cats have got some genetic defects. You said that the 4th kitty is weakly breathing and moving. That just came up in my mind for the logical reason.
