My dad had a friend who didn't have nerves (pretty sure it's called like that). He died because he hadn't realised he had his hand on the fire. Once, he fell off small wall and broke both legs without realising and continued which paralysed his legs. So not feeling pain is in reality not an advantage, just very dangerous.
