Man i am loving the new rig. Its easy traveling around in a new vehicle but not much of an actual adventure. This might be frustrating but adds to the experience. Nothing like putting an old classic back to work. Keep up the great videos. Hopefully kenzi and you can deal with each other for the long term in such a small space.

Thats the upside to buying a new modern vehicle....generally far more reliable and computers tell you what's broken. I loved my old Cj7 back in Hawaii....but it left me stranded way too many times. I still loved it though. (love hate lol)

Headers always leak and constantly need resealing. The negatives far outweigh the positives. Get rid of them immediately. They're cooking your starter and making it very difficult to get to at the same time. Dependability is what you want. Good to see you back!!!
@paidoluca4 жыл бұрын
That's life mate! Don't focus on the negative things. Old Jeeps are difficult to maintain, when you have custom mods most of times is worse.

JAKE, My first Jeep was a 1977 CJ7 genuine certified POS basket case. The engine was literally in the back in a basket in 1000 pieces. It had run out of oil & grenaded under load. I replaced that engine. I spent the next 14 yrs laying under that SOB most every weekend. In 2003 I found myself in a position to be able to purchase a brand new Wrangler TJ. I sold that old POS to an unsuspecting young woman. I was surprised when she did not return it & demand her money back or threaten to sue me!! BOY! What a world of difference trailing a new Jeep!! I got my weekends back! I no longer had to set aside most of my spare $$ for repair parts!! We drove that TJ for 9 yrs until the straight 6 needed replacement & we traded it for a new 2012 JKU. We are now lusting after a what? A Gladiator? Or a Bronco ? Old iron is sure easy on the wallet to acquire, BUT, the cost in time & money to keep them going sometimes is more than payments on a new one. See You on the Trails!! !

the jeep luck thing is just down to maintanance or lack thereof before you left, if you have left, on a trip that big you should buy new suspension new fanbelts power steering belts radiator hoses heater hoses change out all the wheel bearing basically go over the car from head to toe check all bolts and if they look even the slightest bit worn change them out ,, I went on a big trip 7 years ago and thought my 97 toyota was fine until i started really looking found all types of things that werent up to a big trip around $3000 in changing out bad parts i didnt realise were that bad until i started really looking, never missed a beat on that trip no breakdowns no lose bolts money well spent for peace of mind ,, unless you like doing road side work on your car and tow trucks

I have 30 years of experience with headers, and what I have leaned is that eventually exhaust headers always leak. The best thing to prevent leaks on them is to use the expensive cometic multi layer aluminum gaskets, they last the longest, but will eventually fail also. Also the stage 8 locking header bolts help keep the header bolts tight, which also helps the gasket last longer. Also ignore everyone who says get a Toyota, they are overrated for dependability. My 05 Tacoma trd pro. Which I in affectionately called the TURD Pro, was the second biggest piece of junk I ever owned. The engine and trans never broke down, but everything else did. It was only beaten out by my wife’s 89 Chevy lumina for the worst car we have ever owned. That how bad that Tacoma was.

I'd check the terminals on the battery and starter first. Given its still turning over it might just be getting low voltage. Make sure the battery terminals are tight as with the one on the starter, hopefully a simple fix. Im an apprentice auto electrician not just a KZbin know it all, granted with out actually looking at it i can't be sure

6.30 reminds me of a funny experience many years ago. During a very hot heat wave, here in the UK (about 1974), a team of us were working in excessive heat and very dehydrated. One person was sent to get some water for all of us, from a cool water source, with a small bottle, a few hundred yards away. When he returned, and when we all lined up for some of that water, (in one container/bottle), he said, 'I went for it, I get first drink'!.
@ntsms694 жыл бұрын
Just in case no-one gets it. He was immediately asked (in true UK fashion!), why he didn't get a drink at the water source!
