Well that came out looking better than I had expected, including the imposing rock at the head of the canyon. Truthfully, I like it better than the pond concept. Plus I would have hated to be the house down below that dam. Anyway, I respect the team you work with. Makes me think back to the days when I grew up in a small town and people would go out of their way to help each other in times of needs. Something, sadly, that I have not experienced for a very long time. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you.

Glad that it turned out a positive for Matt, despite the disappointment & expense he incurred. After seeing the drone footage, it definitely WOULD have been a beautiful spot, but maybe the barn & pool will make up for it. As to the 850 J, that's a hard decision; my 1st reaction was keeping the current one after Clint & crew came through so many times to get it rolling, but on the other hand if he's willing & some deal can be made beneficial to you both go with the new one. Since I'm posting this on Christmas eve, I want to wish you & yours, as well as Jerry & Matt & Aaron a very Merry Christmas! 🎄

Love the content, dirt projects are the backbone of EVERY project. The yellow 850 has a manual fuel shut off, unless I am mistaken it will run without batteries as long as it has fuel. Why not remove the batteries after starting the yellow 850 and put them back in the green 850J? Would have facilitated only a walk back to the 850J, rather than moving them from the 850 to the pickup and from the pickup to the 850J.

I have some equipment and mowers and such that has steel hold downs and they make me nervous for obvious reasons. I like to use old, thick rubber sheets or radiator hose to shield the battery terminals from shorting out. Has worked so far. Couldn’t help but notice two empty fire extinguisher mounts in the 850J. That’s like foreshadowing in a Hitchcock film. 🔥 I’m gonna come up there and oil the door hinges on that 850J.

The bottom fell out of a nice pond South of Spencer. It had been there for years. A 4 foot across hole . went dry over nite. On the East side of the river. . there is a small cave a half mile away.. But there was no indication where the water went. They dumped the hole full of limestone rip rap and clay. With a layer of some other stuff I don't remember what. Any way it filled back up and is still full of water. It's been over ten years now. It's sinkhole country up here any way. It was strange. Limestone up here and sandstone starts at Spencer.

This turned out nice. Unfortunately, not the outcome Matt had hoped for. Grading can be tricky and deceiving at times and that's when you really have to trust your equipment and maybe double or triple check that the laser is set up right. I see Jerry had the heated seat option in the 850B for a short time. You caught a lucky break on that one for sure. My thoughts on the 850 J are depending on your P&L. I have been out of business for two years now and I'm not sure how much you can depreciate a machine to help with taxes for 2021. Merry Christmas to you and your family and all the other folks that make your channel great.

I there a chance that you might buy the new 850J, keep your 850J, and keep the 850B as a backup dozer for when something breaks down? It's always nice to have a spare because the 850B has 13,000 hours and will be worn out soon if used every day.

A beautiful end product,I think a really good choice on the new machine even on youtube it sounds better to me. I really liked your economics of owning different machines on another video so it it would be worth engaging with your local authority to find a way to use at least a Volvo 220 like Chris's with out excessive transport costs. They may be thinking bigger machines equal bigger projects but an argument might be more efficiency and less pollution. Keep up the good work.

This job is a prime example of why you have to be picky about hiring a contractor. Just because someone knows how to push dirt up to build a pond dam, doesn't mean they know what they're doing.
