Can’t even lie, I liked Cathy this season. I like how she was standing up for the moms because she knows what the moms did wasn’t wrong. I actually talked to Cathy once. She was portrayed a certain way for television. Cathy is just seriously a normal dance teacher. Why do you think cameras magically appeared when she'd talk about competitions against Abbey and never about any other competitions against anyone else? Obviously there aren't secret cameras that are just there to catch talk about Abbey. They have the camera men come at specific times for scenes. That's what all reality shows do including shows like love and hip hop, housewives, bring it.. etc. Everything is scheduled and they have certain lines and improv so we aren't just watching them be natural. It gets to the point they have to show interviews so we know what they're thinking in that moment 😑

Maddie’s dancing is so overrated because the show made her out to be some prodigy of a dancer when the show had other girls who are just simply better than her thanks to non-ALDC training. (Kalani, Brynn, Eli) She has the ability to entertain. Although not better than Kalani or Brynn, but there have been many dancers on the show far better than her, . From an objective POV, it’s just true . She has great stage presence but all her solos were the same, 70% turns and the same other moves. Maddie made plenty of technical errors - her releve wasn't the strongest, she fell out of turns very often, and she often rushed from one move to the next. When I was seeing mistakes like that followed by Abby gushing about how her performance was absolutely perfect, I'm naturally going to have to roll my eyes. overall control of movement wasn't on par with some other dancers on the show like Brynn, Kalani, Elliana.

When Cathy asks why they stayed, what they couldn't say (the producers wouldn't let them break the 4th wall of it all being a show at that point) is that they were locked into contracts. If they left they couldn't join another studio until their contract was up, otherwise that's a breach of contract. They also had contracts with the Abby Lee Dance Company, not just Lifetime. There were also severe financial costs incurred by leaving.
