Jev changed to the commentary scene forever. It sound silly, but nobody was doing what Jev was doing ten years ago. The style had always been uncut live- or post-commentaries. Jev was one of, if not the first person recruited to FaZe primarily as a content creator! Not a trickshotter, feeder, editor, et cetera. Content creator. Go back and look at the roster and the entire scene’s energy back then. By the time Jev had gotten into FaZe and as he was exploding before that, his style had made it everywhere. You wanna know what these videos are called? “Cut comms.” Nowadays, we call them videos/good videos (💙)/commentaries, but cut comms referred to the style Jev popularized because it was so distinct from what everyone else was doing. Everyone began doing it. Everyone. Rain, Adapt, every single premiere player inside FaZe and within the whole of the COD community. And of course we find that after 2016ish so much of the community dispersed to other games. Fortnite was interesting because you could actually upload uncut game content. But yeah, this “2016 style”, the style is every where, it is the standard, and Jev was the person to popularize it. Barely anyone here is going to remember or know this is the case. We’re talking about years and years ago, 2015 on. I heard about Jev through Spratt because Spratt shouted out his videos or something. Followed him from then til his FaZe recruitment months later. Not as involved in KZbin life as much now but I watch Jev every once in a while and I can’t express how much I love this dude. Stuck to his guns for a decade, ZERO drama, ZERO haters, ZERO bullshit, pure vibes. Jev turned down insane opportunities, y’all gotta understand. NY, LA… social media influencer worlds, etc. he had every path there but I think he’s a reserved dude by nature. Liked to be with family (I think?), wanted stability in what he did, stuck with what he loved. And things will always always work out if you 1.) produce consistently 2.) branch out and expand your horizons (for Jev, new games) 3.) are happy with the plentiful smaller things in life and don’t feel the incessant need to be gratified by more and more. Also Jev is substance free from what I remember and that is a remarkably underrated source of stability and health. I love you Jev. From middle school to my senior year in college now. Proud of you 💙
