My Christian family is getting together for Halloween. When they asked if I'd be there, I said I will not because the holiday doesn't align with my new found faith. They were convicted by it and I am standing my ground. As Christians, no one should recognize or celebrate Halloween - THE darkest holiday of the year.

I made plans to host a party for our friends and neighborhood families and, almost immediately, I began to feel in my spirit that it was a bad idea. There was a gentle nudging prodding my inner man to cancel. Literally for weeks I was feeling this unease in my spirit but I had spent so much on decor, and Pinterest ideas... and I had already told everyone. I felt guilty cancelling! A few days after October began, I woke and started my day. I felt the most incessant rebuking in my spirit so I gave up my plans and asked for forgiveness for being so bullheaded about the entire thing, especially when it came to such a nefarious day. I cancelled and invited everyone to our acreage about 2 hours away from the major city we live in instead. To my surprise, they're all more excited to be with us in the sticks!

My personal belief is that once we know the truth about something such as halloween, as a believer we are accountable to God if we continue tp partake of it. What has light to do with darkness? For the last 7-8 years I have been big on Halloween. Our favourite family tradition has been going to Disneys Oogie, Boogie, bash. We earn money together to save up for our trip. (We have to fly to CA) we talk about it all year long. I have to book the hotel, airline tickets and the event tickets in July. This year God put into my heart to not do it this year. I thought maybe something bad might happen at Disney or along our way. The day came to buy tickets and I didn’t. It hurt. I felt like a part of our family bonding was dying but I knew it was the right thing to. (Without knowing why) I decided I could make Halloween fun at home. I spent an entire day putting up all our stuff and my little 7 year old was so happy helping. My little 3 year old starting acting strangely. By evening I figured out he didn’t like the decorations. Then God told me I am inviting evil INSIDE my home. It was a gentle rebuke. After the kids went to bed I took it all down. All the money I spent on decor went into the garbage. I have never decorated with evil, blood, monster stuff but the ghosts, witches, bats,and skeletons made their presence. My little one could feel it. I “hear” Gods message now. This video confirms it. I didn’t send the 3year old in a costume to pre school today. He was the only one. My 7year old has been counting down the days till our church party which is tonight. Now I see it. WHY are we celebrating this as a Christian community??! I’m not going to attend. I’ll pray for God to bless my son with a change of heart today. I have wondered how God feels about America in the month of October. Communities are decorated and celebrating death. My neighbours house is full of monsters and bones. Satan wants us to say it is all fun and games…you’re either on Gods side or Evils side. Halloween is the revealing season.

Pastors around the country made a public outcry when Christmas Trees became "popular". And the national tree wasn't even a thing until 1929. They knew right and wrong then. Jesus has a good plan for me on halloween since He gave me a lot of fun stories for kids we go to the park and give them out. one is a story about the big dog party in the sky some of my dogs already in heaven are in the story its so cute. then i asked for a ghost story He came back a week later with some fun Holy Ghost stories. and some jokes from heaven. we gave out the stories Saturday we said oh you look so cute in your princess dress a lot of princesses this year. and here is a treat for you from Jesus. gave them stories and little toys. Jesus says Redeem the time not many days left keep working every day belongs to God.

I’ve been feeling so uneasy the last few days about tomorrow... this is bothering me more than usual. I have two kids, 9 and 5 and they are so excited about it…. No trick or treat for us but going to church because they have organized activities, games and giving candy for the community. I’m more concerned about their day at school. We’ve had some very good conversations the past couple weeks though but it’s still not helping me to figure out how to “cancel” everything for my kiddos

Dont open your door to trick or treaters. Buy your own candy if you want. Have a pizza night. Talk to your husband and kids to educate them. We stopped 8 years ago.

I’m keeping my children aged 10,8,6 home from school and bringing them to eat at a restaurant for lunch and maybe laser tag. We will be at home during Halloween night. Sure they will be disappointed tomorrow but I’m the adult and they will get over it!

My Irish Roman catholic boss loves this holiday and calls it Nov 1 "all saints day." Commemorating dead saints for their sacrifice. Which is outright forbidden in scripture. Similar to many Asian countries who make food for their dead loved ones better food for the dead than when they were alive. More homage of the dead than in their life.

Oct 31 is Reformation Day - the day in 1517 when Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the church door in Wittenburg, Electorate of Saxony (in present day Germany). This day was known as All Hallows Eve - the evening before Nov 1, All Saints Day. This bold act, of pointing out where the doctrines & practices of the church of Rome differed from scripture - broke open the Reformation in Germany. You can do a deep dive on this history that is often unknown by present generations. (I find interesting the convergence of dates of Sawain, Day of the Dead, and All Saints Day. Praying to dead saints...)
