I came across your fabulous rendition of this great song just a few days ago and have not been able to leave it alone. You two are fabulous as a duet. You both have terrific voices.This song is particularly special to me as it was written by good ol cowboy named Hod Pharis from right here in Southern Alberta, Canada. From my research, apparently, he wrote it for a girl he had met in Coleman or Blairmore in the Crowsnest Pass of our beautiful Rocky Mountains. They would likely have had to wait until the spring came because for most of the winter in those days, the roads would not have been easy to negotiate through the mountains. And, those storm clouds would indeed gather on the mountains to the west of where Hod was from because that is where most of our winter weather comes from.Anyway, thank you very much for your beautiful testimony to an unforgettable song.

Yes, as I understand Hod was a rancher in the Medicine Hat area of, Alberta and wrote this song in about 1958. He missed his sweetheart from the Crowsnest pass area or from the Canmore/Banff area of Alberta. Irregardless, it is a beautiful song that was voted the love song of the century in about 2002.
