Why did it take 3 years for the whole thing to finally go to trial? I could see 3 weeks or even 3 months,but 3 years! The OJ Simpson case went to trial a hell of a lot faster than that and it was a hell of a lot more high profile.

It was because Simpson's trial was so high profile that it happened so fast.

Two to three years is not unusual for someone to go to trial in the U.S. I’ve never seen anyone go on trial in three weeks or even three months. Served on several juries.
