If I'm being honest, the 4th one really stood out. It gave a real cinematic vibe, at least in my opinion. Edit: This is quite controversial, so I did wanna point out: i didn't know what a good edit was | some transitions were kinda just as if slapped onto the video with no actual effort put into a lot of them | in my opinion, it is still a personal fave

honestly I think the main difference shown by experience is using what you are given to your advantage. Raze is a very flashy and fast character, so the montages need to fit that persona. Her ult is definitely the easiest thing to design her montages around. You want that beat drop to come in as that ult hits. Another thing I find sick for longer edits is a switch up, typically for a different verse has a separate style and then the original comes back for the chorus. tbf this is all my preference so take it with a grain of salt

All of the edits were clean, and I think the first showed the most respect to the clips and their natural pace which is a great takeaway for other editors. Sometimes we get locked into a specific style but there’s a 100 ways to play a game so your preferred style won’t always fit and you gotta change it up to the style of the player. But mad respect for giving everyone a chance and showcasing some growing talent on the scene 🙏🏼

Something that bothers me about the second editor was that he was using elderflame vandal shooting sound for a reaver vandal, and he also used the reaver kill sound when it should have been origin, same when u got a kill with elderflame judge, should have been 3k elderflame when instead it was 1k reaver. Overall though all of them are great editors (way better than I’ll ever be) just some didn’t fit my style. I also agree with ur favorite because I feel like it’s a good balance of showing editing and also the clips.

I'll say this as an editor (I use after effects most of the time).....all of the montages were total bullshit.....honestly.....none of them deserved the money they got.....the first one.....prolly took him 5 minutes to add preset transitions....prolly took him 2 hours to render the rsmbed clips and that lil bit of twixtor......second editor.....I'd say he deserved about 3 dollars max......sum effects were nice but what ticked me off is that he didn't use twixtor.....and the zooms were stiff.......the third one was completely ass.....fourth one is the best....although it wasn't clean and it was kinda stiff....but ye I'd pay him 6 dollars max for his work......let's not talk about how dogshit the fifth one was

All these are great and showcase different styles but honestly the 4th by xsyyyyy is by far the best, he really understood how to harmonize video editing and audio editing, the only criticism I have is the prolonged black space in the beginning, could have definitely added a cinematic with the montage's name there, and the Vandal gunshot sounds on the Split-clip towards the end are a little off-sync with the song. Great edit!

Azjoseph guy found a backing track that had all those choir ''ahs'' that are in literal same key as the ''you got a kill'' sfx in valo. And he made sure that every kill complimented the beat and vice versa. That's some extremely trained and talented ear he has there, so even though it was a 'slow' montage, if he found a faster backing track, he'd produce the same quality, the video would just be over quicker. Every effect was on beat, nothing was pointless in the montage. Coming from a guy that does video editing for other youtubers.
