Another technique, once you get use to using the tyre scrubbing sound as an input, is to drive with no sound input. i.e. Turn off your speakers/headphones. It will feel weird at first, til you start sensing what the car wants. This will train your car prediction skills mainly. And while you are also training your reaction skills side, it's not the primary driver of the technique.

Cameron, this is a fantastic video. Love the in-depth analysis, as usual, but you really hit on some key points that go way beyond the average YT racing video. Credit to Suellio for offering the valuable insights regarding hand inputs, and the MRP is an invaluable concept that applies to many disciplines. As a kart racer this video immediately helped me understand why I'm terrible in the GT cars on iRacing. I can tell you but when you are being coached with drivers like Suellio who represent ATRS, you will improve and make a difference over the course of time. It wont happen right away but once you put the grind and time on down towards one car at a time, you progressively improve and one day you'll look back at where you started. Take the time to view how coaches approach corners, their inputs and what they do. You'll see what you do wrong and gradually you pick it up. A lot of the guys at ATRS are good drivers to trust and ask for coaching. You will catch on and get better over time

Coaching is certainly a process, and there is always work to be done. Suellio is just scratching the surface here. Even F1 drivers have coaches- although usually in the form of data engineers who translate raw data into trends, then it’s on the driver to adapt their inputs to improve lap time.

Think he is saying in theory that trailbraking in an open wheel basically isn’t needed because of how incredible the braking and downforce are. you’d already be off the brakes and back on the power instead of needing to trailbrake

The new Porsche Cup 992 in rFactor 2 is a lot better from the dynamics and sound IMO, but still drives like a brick. And thanks to LFM there is tough competition as well. Go on a practice server and try to go near the best times. Setup is fixed and like in iRacing you can watch the onboards of faster drivers to learn. Porsche Cup is not my talent I can tell.

Yes, you can and you should. I just got to acc a month ago and I was missing the force feedback from the tires slipping and losing grip, AC has more options than ACC on force feedbacks, it made my driving more dificult. I didn't know I was spinning until I was sideways and had no way to save it. As soon as I turn down the engine sound my driving got much better. Just put the engine sound on 40%(on ACC it's too loud!), tires on 100% and turn the damage sound to 40-50% also. You'll be fine. It's different, before the car was "showing" you what it was doing, now it'll "talk" to you.

well, before you hire a coach, you should get acquainted to the sim, the car, the track, your wheel and pedals, and get loads and loads of laps... at this point, a coach can only take your money and you'll have no real benefits.
