The 2017 game was by far the best in terms of quality, a close game more passes linked together some good defending. But bcos the audience is 50% people not interested in football who just want to watch the sidemen it was called “boring” and then just cos of the magnitude of goals but horrible quality this and the first one are the better ones according to most. Hoping for a more even and higher quality but still fun game like the 2nd one was

I'm 15 and this video inspired me and now i've been coding my own xg, heatmap, xt, xga etc. models using python. Granted, python isnt the most sophisticated and im no data scientist but so far its been working well. My xg calculator works well, same with xt, and my heatmap code works just needs a few tweaks.

The oversight here is probably that the model assumes that the players shoot at the average level of a pro/pro in their position which would skew the expected goals up massively. I'd also argue that average shooting ability of the sidemen team was better for example comparing Simon vs. Deji taking the most high danger shots for their teams respectively.
