Mine too (although I haven't played much joust in a few years and that was casual instead of ranked). I think the difference is that games are decided fairly early on, but can drag on longer even if the eventual outcome really isn't a question. Now, the source of that difference is likely that high-level ranked games either have players surrendering (perhaps due to salt, perhaps from taking a step back and assessing victory as being unrealistic) or that higher ranks have players who can press leads more effectively than lower ranks or casual players; this difference would mean that the better the players, the more they can leverage a small lead and end the game quickly.
