Gotta admit...it's more fun to me to just watch you, instead of you and a group. Maybe it's just quieter, and it's easier to imagine that it's me out there catching beauties like you did on this video. I was surprised that you opened with that double-blade spinner, instead of one of your own Creek Bugs. All those hooks really do snag a lot easier. I guess having a group with you saved you a $5 lure. Tight lines, and God bless.

When you play a big fish, if you use side to side pressure at a 45 degree angle and avoid pulling upward. This may require entering the water rather than playing the fish from an elevated bank. The side pressure allows the fish to play against its own mass better and the hook is far less likely to bend open. Allowing the fish to spook upstream is also very helpful in tiring them. I have landed many large browns and rainbows using carefully regulated drag pressure, self control, and patience. When you start to horse large fish, they are more likely to stress the hook. I prefer to use a fly rod to land very large trout, for the tapered leaders act as a shock tippet, the rod efficiently absorbs the tension of the fight, and the fly hooks I use are very high quality forged steel. I also use spinning tackle made from fly rod blanks, leader out with tapered fly fishing leaders using a wide variety of jigs, home made in line spinners, spoons, crank baits, streamers, nymphs, swim baits, etc. I also use refurbished vintage Shakespeare Wonderod 2-piece fly rods very effectively for wild trout .
