The main problem with tournament mode in this game it'll literally pull you to the ground if you're too close. You could be the one winning and comboing your opponent on the area but if the combo ends over the grass it'll automatically make you land instead of keeping you at the same height. That's why goku lost that second round even though he was in the air when that combo started, you can literally see him get pulled to the ground. That's another thing they need to fix cause ain't no way you should losing for successfully comboing you're opponent out of the ring.
