If anyone wants to know the history of the club, I’ll write it briefly. Formed in 1992 when Irthlingborough Diamonds and Rushden Town merged together, within 10 years the club reached the football league. And the in 2011 the club entered administration. A phoenix club of which we saw in this video was founded in the same year, the club has been groundhopping ever since and the original can be seen on the way into Rushden from the A14 opposite the Aldi. The two grounds that were messed up by Alfie is probably because they used to share a ground with Wellingborough Town and now share with Rushden and Higham United. Former players include Akinfenwa, Yannick Bolasie, Ben Chilwell, John Ruddy, Billy Sharp and Mark Wright (yes, the tv guy) Absolute shame what happened to a great local club but it is now something that we are used to in this modern day of football.
