Maybe they spend too much time in their pens and when they get out they just wanna play and burn energy. Maybe they could be housed together so they have a buddy to play with which would allow them to focus more on hunting when out in the field.

For hunting I really recommend doing something to "Trigger" it's hunting time. Some people make jerky out of the animals and rub some fur from a prior hunt in their face to signal "Go hunt". Dogs are great when triggered right for their job. So for hunting rubbing a pelt in their face might get them to understand that's what you want to hunt. Also if you do get a fresh rabbit kill get two 2x4's and put a line between them so you can run the dogs after a dead animal and trigger their hunting instincts. Also makes a great time to play with them when they "catch" the rabbit. Feel free to dm me if you'd like maybe some more help with the dogs.

From one hounds man to “another” you need to hunt with them and train them. You standing at the vehicle and walking the road isn’t helping. You’re treating them like they are veteran dogs. In my advice, get a rabbit with or without them. Use the hide to teach them what they need to be chasing. Right now they are just sniffing hunting for whatever catches their nose. Another thing is what I was referring to earlier. You need to hunt get in the grass with them if you really think there’s rabbit in there. Get in and kick them out with the dogs. Those dogs want to hunt and it shows if you can’t see that you shouldn’t have them. But if you want additional advice hit me up.

Yo, KG. I've been out with beagle packs in England for hares. They scan around loads... id maybe suggest hunting some rabbit without the beagle boys, and the use the pelt to get them excited and then drag around for them to chase. As mentioned before, they maybe getting the deer scent and everything else and getting confused. So I'd definitely recommend on playing with the boys with a dead rabbit. Good luck.

Dogs are young there doing good they be circling em back to ya soon. Every rabbit they jump and smell they get better and better. Try stomps on piles get rabbits out call your dogs on the track. Like after you see one try call em to the track they start running the track

Have you ever shown them a fresh rabbit? Maybe live trap one and let em see it take off. Also we use a MF 1635 for our property. It’s a 35 horse 4x4 and does everything we ask it to.

It takes about two years before you really know what youve got with a beagle. Best thing you can do is put them out there with a good experienced dog. Idk if you have any local, but a rabbit pen would definitely help your dogs. If they dont know what they're after its hard to train them 😂

Long time beagler here. Them microhounds are young. And when the weather gets cold it does effect the scent scenting conditions. Wear out a pair of boots behind them an the natural instinct will kick in. They definitely have the drive.

If you mow a couple of weeks before deer season, green will start growing to attract deer. Then just after the season ends, plant winter wheat and that will attract them during the period they start dropping antlers, so it will be a good place to look. Also between there and bedding. You can use the excavator with the thumb and pick up and shake the brush piles to loosen them up without taking the cover away completely.

Kendall buy a 3 or 4 year old male around your area from a hunter that has a lot of beagle s and buy one trained for 1000 to 1500$ to hunt your young dogs with and within a year you'll have 3 dogs that'll hunt together and get you a lot of rabbits Everytime and will not lose dogs near a often and do not buy a trained male unless he's a clean dog that doesn't run trash and go hunting with him 3 or 4 times before you buy him ,same recipe for coonhounds I e raised both and trained both and that's how it's done successfully.Just a tip bro

I have some advice. We hunt deer with beagles mixed with running walkers. All we do to train them are let them run with our experienced dogs. They usually figure out what the objective is pretty quickly. Hope this helps!
