Otherdimensional population: Screaming in confusion

The fact that the Sculk Horde can infect the Otherside, a Sculk-based dimension, gives me a theory on how the Sculk Horde came to be. The Sculk was born in the Otherside, and the Sculk leaked into the Overworld when the first Otherside portals were made. Given that it requires a Heart of the Deep (The Warden's Heart) to activate an Ancient City Portal, I would guess that the Wardens, or some mob in the Otherside had the intelligence to build, and was able to create a portal that we call the Overworld. These portals led the Otherside inhabitants underground, where the Sculk would leak. and the inhabitants would build structures as a base for themselves (AKA: the Ancient Cities). For a while, the Otherside inhabitants would live in these Ancient Cities until some third party raided the Ancient Cities. This third party caught wind of the Sculk when a few of their allies caught wind of a cyan substance starting to take over the deep caves of the Overworld. All but the Wardens would never return to the Overworld, due to the strength of the people that raided the Ancient Cities. The Wardens however would remain to guard the Ancient Cities from the intruders. At first, the Wardens were able to pick off the raiders, one, by one. However, the raiders would soon learn the Warden's abilities and weaknesses and figure out how to kill the Warden. After meticulous planning and preparation, the raiders finally slain the Warden. They used the Warden's corpse to first strengthen their gear and armor, then learned that the portal could be activated with the Warden's Heart. Once they did, they learned that this dimension was no different from that of the Nether. The inhabitants simply were hostile to the Overworld inhabitants due to the raiders aggravating them first. While a majority of the raiders went to explore the Otherside, a few saw something interesting. In their battle with the Warden, one of their allies died near a Sculk Catalyst and saw how his soul caused the spread of more Sculk. It intrigued the few who stayed and made them curious if they could control the Sculk for themselves. These people will be known as the Conjurers, who slayed another Warden and brought its heart other Sculk-related materials with them. The Conjurers made a proposition to their clan- using this new Sculk as a way to increase their military power, and potentially strengthen themselves. However, the governing order saw this proposition as too dangerous, fearing it could corrupt the Overworld completely, thus, banning the use of Sculk in their clan. Undeterred by the governing order of their clan, they decided to do their experiments underground, where no one could know of their work. After building their place of experimentation (what we know as the Sculk Tomb), They first fused the Sculk Catalyst with the Warden's Heart, creating some kind of...brain. This is what we would know as the Gravemind or Ancient Brain Node. The Conjurers learned of how the Sculk spread, so they used the hostile creatures that lurked in the caves (zombies, skeletons, spiders, creepers) to fuel this new brain. This new brain would absorb the souls of the slain, much like the Sculk Catalyst. However, this brain would evolve, creating not only new Sculk-infected blocks but also using its souls to create Sculk hybrids. Seeing the Sculk Zombies, and Spitters, the Conjurers became lusted with power...and wanted to go further. The Conjurers then proceeded to kidnap, Illagers, Endermen, and Ravagers, to increase the brain's power and abilities. Soon, Sculk Ravagers, Endermen, and Vindicators came to be, furthering the brain even more. I should note that some of the Conjurers died in their experiments, due to the nature of Sculk Hybrids, but they were mostly able to control their experiments due to being able to control the brain they created. It didn't stop with just living beings however, the Conjurers were soon able to use the Crying Souls as fuel for the brain after infecting Crying Obsidian, and learning how it contains souls in the obsidian. At this point, the Conjurers were convinced they could take over their clan, and rule the world with their own Sculk, and would happily use whatever living beings they could to increase their power and the Sculk. Their sanity has disappeared long ago in their experiments. However, one day...something went wrong. It was unknown why it happened. Maybe it was the overuse of hostile mobs or the mere number of souls sacrificed to the brain. But the brain the Conjurers planned to use as a means for conquest...turned on them. It seemed that the brain managed to grow sentience, and realized it no longer needed the people who conducted their experiments on it to create its ecosystem, reminiscent of the Otherside. The problem was that due to the number of experiments done on the brain, it had long forgotten what the Otherside was like, and thus created its own Sculk ecosystem. The laboratory of the Conjurers would be their tomb, as the Sculk mobs they created turned on them, being slaughtered like pigs. It seemed as if the world would fall to this new Brain. However, the Brain was stopped by one of the Conjurers, with a purified version of the Crying Souls, which nullified the abilities of the brain and stopped the infection. It turns out that one of the Conjurers was secretly a spy, planted by the governing officials, due to their knowledge and fear of the Conjurers being wild cards. That spy realized that they had to figure out how to purify the Sculk in the off chance the brain they created would go rogue. The spy took one of the Crying Souls. and began their experiments to purify the soul. After days of experimenting, they learned that the magical properties of the Golden Apple and Amethyst Shards caused some kind of purification effect, causing the Sculk to dissolve from whatever it touched. After experimenting with the "Purification Shards", they were able to make Pure Souls, which led to the Purifiers. On the day the brain turned on the Conjurers, the spy had spare Pure Souls on them. Unsure what the purified souls could do, they slammed the souls into the brain, which caused the brain to deactivate. Afterward, the spy took the Conjurers to the governing order, where they were presumably executed for disobeying the clan, and nearly causing a Sculk Apocalypse. As for the brain and the tomb, it was to be never touched, by a human, ever again, leaving the Ancient Brain Node, dormant for an unknown time. It was unknown what happened to those who discovered the Otherside. Perhaps they all died to the hostile inhabitants of the Otherside. Maybe they were corrupted and became part of the Otherside. What happened to them will forever be a mystery. However, slowly over time, the Ancient Brain would gain its power and abilities, infecting the tomb. However, it would only activate if the soul of the human dares travel deep into the tomb. So if you're a player that ventures into the world of Minecraft, beware of the Sculk. For if you awaken the Horde, you'll unleash incomprehensible horrors onto the world, and may you survive in the infection known as the *Sculk Horde*.

@@redstocat5455 I know I’m a month late, but the other side and sculk horde no longer recognize each other, with the sculk horde having forgotten about the other side and the other side seeing just how mutated the sculk horde is, and the sculk hordes mobs are originated from the over world so are unfamiliar to the othersiders

The fact that sculk can infect an dimension made of sculk, would mean that sculk could evolve slowly and/or forget his appartenance

I think they should add a feature to make that if the block isn't iffectable, it should generate sculk vein so that it's still expanding or look infected a bit Also still wondering why the wardens fight the sculk hord...

@@CarrotFang can you infect the infinite abyss mod. You can go to negative 1720 blocks deep, and there’s 7 different levers that you can see. Can you infect it.
