Jow someone can sell a house that does not belong to him/her even in the case of power of attorney. The bank must check twice, the notary must check and recheck, The same stands for a car, in Italy it's impossible. You cannot have your assets sold lioke this as if it were a lump of bread. So in Italy these stories are absurd and you need a good way to take something from someone

Can't afford the taxes??? Compared to what - rent? I live in one of the highest taxed states in the US, and even my taxes are well below what they charge for rent in this area. Landlords have to pay taxes and mortgage, so of course it's more. Keep the house and do repairs as needed with the money you save from what rent would be.

If you truly want to be sure the intended (especially underage) relative gets the property put it into a trust fund with an attorney in charge with strict requirements on the money being spent has to be authorized by the attorney. My mom got ripped off by her stepmother because my grandfather trusted his second wife. She spent the money as fast as che could on things an attorney would not have officially approved.

I also learned it from experience after both my parents died supposedly my brother was power of attorney but what my brother did not know was that I arranged a lawyer and a notary went to my parents home to do a living trust and brother had no idea 🤣😂 so I went to see my lawyer I took the living trusts and that’s when he told me once your parents passed away the power of attorney passed away with them 😂🤣 so I told my brother we have an appointment with a lawyer so be there he did show up with his girlfriend I was alone my husband was busy the lay were told your power of attorney is NO GOOD and your father made a living trust this your copy and I started to laugh and he looked at me and said WHY DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS ?
