I install 2 Chinese made knock off Rochester Quadrajet carburators on my 1978 Nova and 1981 Silverado. Will they work or are they junk?

Thanks for the video on the carbs. I just put a Chinese two barrel on a dodge breaking the fuel inlet tightening it solve a nagging leak. Replaced it with another but it appeared to be much better quality. So far so good.

Good job Lee ! I got my license in 82 , most everything was still carburerated , but I think fuel injection was the best thing they came out with. Just my opinion 😅

Im not mad at the knock off carb. If it works then it ain't bad. Especially with the prices of a basic edelbrock being $400+.

The Rochester Quadrajet with the divorced choke setup you'll have to buy a universal cable and hook it up through the cab so you can manually pull the choke and close it for cold starts

They have a bit of a downward pull to them because the intake they went on had a spring that would open and close it based on engine temp.

I always try to rebuild the OEM Rochester carburetur. If it's not rebuildable, then I buy another used OEM one off of eBay and rebuild it. They're simple to rebuild, at least to me. But if all hope is lost, then I have no choice but to purchase a new Chinese carburetor online.

Biggest issue with most of them is the throttel shaft wears and gets loose then it's a vac leak. Fixable if you got the reamers and bushings

Set the timeing at 12⁰ put the vac advance on the ported vac not full manifold vac.thats how i set up the 350 in my 81 gmc c30 tow truck.
