It's refreshing in a way that he has a very clear opinion and doesn't move away from it, no matter how uncomfortable his truth is. Seems we found ourselves in a world filled to the brim with fence sitters and the smart fence sitters figured out a way to monetize themselves. @@Mrgrass_ Extremism and division is for sure becoming a lot more obvious, but frankly the majority of people are not in the spaces where they think critically about that. Because when you really think about it, we've always had extremism and division, it's just it was a lot easier to hide it before the age of the internet. If you were to, say, go outside, a lot of people don't really think about say international politics, race politics, or identity politics. That conversation takes place on Twitter, not so much in the public park where people are exercising, smelling the flowers or just chatting with their friends. And these people who have well adjusted lives are watching the fence sitters because they are in a place of privilege where they too can be fence sitters. And what most people don't realize is this is the majority of people walking around in western society, whereas people who are conscious of contentious topics are in fact the minority. It's a tough pill to swallow, but when you look outside your own perceived bubble, you get a much better idea of how every day life operates. At least coming from my own observations.

There's thousands, millions of things that exist (including Better Call Saul). It's hypocritical that he complains so much about "media being in decline," all while parroting that money is the only thing that matters, and that artistic growth is meaningless. He thinks exactly like the people that finance in entertainment industries (only caring about how much they can profit from it). The truth is that artists have always been in conflict with the people that fund art, it's a tale as old as time. Before Hollywood was over-saturated with mediocre Superhero movies, it was over-saturated with mediocre Westerns. Slop has existed forever, just as there have been thousands of artists that find personal and financial success inside and outside entertainment industries. There's so many artists that make their living from services like Patreon and Ko-fi.

I honestly can't entirely agree with what he says about content, especially in the animator space. Yeah, there's a certain repetition, more so in storytime animation, but there are also so many other artists constantly pushing themselves in a way that's so authentically themselves, that I feel he either hasn't come across them yet or has just written them off. I do occasionally watch lodaluk's videos, mainly for his unique visuals, but I do hope that one day he adopts a worldview that isn't so pessimistic.

Lodaluk is a very interesting character, and I have a theory that he was just talking out of his ass for most of this interview. He mentioned hotdiggitydemon which makes me believe that he’s not actually as “authentic” as he likes to act and is more of a copy cat trying to build a story around his channel maybe eventually building to something that he (his character) finally calls “Art”

This interview was so well done. I saved it for a time I'd be doing a mundane task like washing dishes, and Im SO GLAD I did. The questions were very well thought out, and it brought a new and inspiring wave of thoughtss. It also made me realise that I dont have to be so vanilla to be accepted :) I can be my weird unorthodox self, and those that are for me will come Honestly , great interview. Subbed. Cant wait for the next one.
