Out-freaking-standing!!! Like a combination of X-Files, Kolchak the Nightstalker, and JAG. Loving the premise, though, I'm sure you've already been bombarded with comments that Marines aren't called Soldiers and vice versa. The difference is obvious. Marines eat crayons. Soldiers dip their crayons in hot sauce first.

My thoughts exactly. I immediately thought of Unit 731 (WW2 Japanese experimentation on PoWs etc). It also gave me Rendlesham Forest vibes. If you're still up here, in Scotland @DrCreepen, you should look at the Falkirk Triangle, the sightings on bases, including Faslane, Leuchars, Benbecula, etc.❤

Came to say this. Although I really enjoyed the story, as a veteran of both the Marine Corps and the Army Reserves, it immediately dropped me out of the story. But it’s a mistake often made by the uninformed. A possibility helpful list. Marine Corps - Called Marines. Positive nicknames, Devil Dog, Jarhead, Leatherneck. Negative nicknames, Jarhead, Crayon eaters, Bullet Sponge, Bellhop/Bellboy (used by the Navy) Army - Called Soldiers Positive nicknames Troop, Battle Buddy or just Battle. Negative nicknames, Doggy Air Force - Called Airman Positive nicknames, unknown Negative nicknames, Zoomie, Chair Force Navy - Called Sailor or Seaman Positive nicknames unknown Negative nicknames, Swabbie, Squide, Seman or Taxi Driver ( Used by Marines) The positive nicknames are most often used within the branch of service, Marine to Marine, Soldier to Soldier. Because of the time frame mentioned, during WW2: Soldiers were sometimes called Dogface or G.I.. Marines were often referred to as, Gyrene (a combination of G.I. & Marine) or Leatherneck.

I was a Marine brat. We were stationed at Bragg, LeJeune and Cherry Point. I can totally see you going with a super soldier/transhumanism direction. Then add in there the demons and rituals that the Nazis performed and called forth in their demons. The Presidio was also a huge Satan nest, run by Col Michael Aquino…wicked stuff. He’s also the leader of The Church of the Temple of Set. You’ve definitely got enough whoowhoo in this story! I’m really enjoying tonight’s reading! Jenny

There are a lot of fantastic elements to this story. The pacing, the building suspense, etc. As a Soldier though, the only part I have an issue with is who is employing the protagonist here. He seems to report to two Colonels but then they don’t actually want him to discover anything? I know the first one made mention that he didn’t actually want/expect him to discover anything. There may be a very logical explanation for this discrepancy. If there is, explaining it fairly early on would definitely help people like me to get much more immersed into the story.

It's actually something I realized I hadn't addressed while I was recording this. This will be mention/resolved in the next part, as it seems weird he is being assigned by someone but not reporting back to them. Glad you mentioned it.

Here's an idea for you. Do a story about a numbers station. One that doesn't belong to any nation or any known military organization. The voice that reads the numbers can be understood in any language because it sounds like whatever primary language the listener happens to speak. An example would be there are two people in one room hearing the same broadcast at the same time on the same equipment, one native Japanese and the other Mexican. Both would understand what was being said because both would hear it in their native tongue. One more thing, when the last number is read, anyone who listened to the entire broadcast from beginng to end spontaneously vanish.

@@DrCreepen how bout a Philadelphia experiment or create a black/worm hole where they were trying to move troops from Bragg/Liberty to Lejune. Then the troops are stuck in limbo/time trying to get from place to place. Able to see and hear trying to communicate they need help. Not to mention if you make the troops late 80's it would be feasible both base commanders were involved in the experiments. Possibly the commanders are trying to cover up their mistakes or even fixing them by sending the troop in that talked to the investigator. That it almost worked allowing him to come through once in a while. Also commander's are afraid to use the tech because it could suck possibly more than just troops like the whole base. Yeah it would put them at retirement age. But this is fiction. It would also explain the uniform differences they were just switching the BDU around that time from Olive Drab to camo if I remember correctly. The tech could be reverse engineered UFO tech gotten from Germany. Just spit balling here if it helps. Also the troop that scared everyone the newer one who communicated with the MMC could also be reason people died because the commanders kill anyone who reports talking to him to cover it up. BTW your my favorite on the creepypasta genre.

To be honest that sounds very much like a “ jumped the shark” idea. Military ghost-stories are so fun because you just don’t find enough of them. You’re doing great with the paranormal end… no need to add Science Fiction. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
@rebeccamiller3248

@@spiralrose only problem if it were actually ghost then command would not be trying to cover it up or miss direct the investigation especially with similarities between the bases in the paranormal realm. Makes more sense they are trying to cover a failed experiment.

I came back to listen since my headache went away from last night. It seems this story already has a pretty good direction of where it's going. You selected NC military bases as a good place for this story. You have "Project Eagle" which, I don't know if you meant for it this way (or if you knew this) but eagles are not considered a 'unified," biological group. So it fits perfectly into being the group who may be the ones who were experimented on and perhaps made bigger and smarter. The second "Project Phantom" can mean spectator or an illusion. This lends some flexibility to your story as the listener would automatically (and reasonably assume) that this group are the perceiving ones. There's also these connecting soldiers, from WWII and Vietnam, as an illusion because our battlefields or our environments hold memories of what happens. It's not that absurd, imo, for soldiers or marines who have these shared experiences in the same places to naturally pick up previous or even future visions.. The ground literally holds natural healing properties and it can also be manipulated to fuel some things through heat, and tweaking of the ...germy/chemical stuff down there (lol I can't remember the names atm). So why can't it hold our energy as well? That could be one way to explain the bleed through of the time differences. It could even have been used in the experimentation of making super humans (what's it called?). That could also be apart of what was experimented on to enhance the soldiers. Wouldn't it be clever to have someone you could send into the future and/or the past to spy on things? Or maybe Dr. Graves can't remember something he is supposed to know about himself that aligns all these pieces? Is he an extension of that project? Does he know? Do all the time periods work together? And has Dr. Graves been intercepted for nefarious reasons or for good reasons? Maybe just dig under the places like the bunker to see what he can find? Idk but you have a lot of options of where you could go with this story! One last thing, I'm not really sure Dr. Graves is always on the same timelines as far as his own life. There was that one character he ran into that seemed very off and odd to him...maybe Dr. Graves goes back and forth in time?

Just FYI, Fort Bragg is now known as Fort Liberty. Since Bragg was a confederate officer, it was renamed. As a born and bred Southern woman who comes from a strict Southern Baptist military family, I am allowed to say that the Fort should have been renamed. Here in New Orleans where I am, the confederate statues were removed and some people lost their minds over it. I don’t understand why it upset them so much. We lost the Civil War for Goodness Sake! Having those statues erected in the first place was dumb… That’s like if Germany erected statues of Hitler after losing WWII… And they claim to be proud Americans and patriots, but the statues representing people who betrayed our nation don’t belong in a place of honor! I’m INCREDIBLY proud to be a southern American. Our culture, our history, our rich heritage and diversity is so awe inspiring. Especially here in New Orleans. So don’t come for me if you’re a fan of honoring the shameful practices and hatred of our past. Also, I find it funny that most who were protesting the removal of those statues were…white… The black people who were enslaved and abused by rich white men who abducted them from their homeland to sell them into slavery like livestock…they weren’t bitching about removing those embarrassing monuments to a past that we should NEVER elevate to anything of value.

When the investigator finds the truth, he also finds out both how high it goes, which is all the way to the tope, possibly worldwide, culd leader cult type stuff, and how to kill them and end the suffering of the men/ ghosts trapped in the relm between time! It's an idea. You dont have to take it, but it's your if you want it or parts or whatever.😊

ok so, i have 2 main comments. before i present them let me briefly say that your stories are fantastical and i adore listening to them. 1- i feel like you could have elaborated more on the part about how or why he was able to obtain clearance to the sensitive redacted files. making it a one and done sentence may make the story more streamlined, but it does challenge the suspension of disbelief a bit more than it should. 2- i would personally like this story to have an eventual solid conclusion, without too open of an ending, but also not one of those "i am writing this in my deathbed" type of endings. those are seldom fun, and often kinda ruin the story. i wanna see this investigation through, know what happens to all the people involved, and how the investigator is able to share the records of it, even if it's by means of a third party letting us "see through their eyes" as they experience reading it themselves. that's it! keep it up, this is wonderful!

Thank you good Dr and well done, this is really good so far, you captured the mindset pretty well of military commanders intent on keeping secrets by different methods (I served in a a unit that was the big stupid cow - military intelligence)(sorry old habit, stupid cow - oxymoron) and the fact that commanders of different bases tend to know each other pretty well socially as well as professionally, there are only so many in those positions, also even though the main character has clearance to access the records it's normal for it to be flagged when certain records are accessed One thing to consider for going forward is the private that had the copy of the piece of paperwork is more than he seems, he had more knowledge than he should And was sharing what would be a classified document The connection to Project Paperclip can/should lead to an entire web of interconnected experimental programs with similar goals and the subjects are perhaps not dead but in some way caught between living and dead with their 'ghostly' appearances being mental projections (the stories of gruesome/tragic deaths are the result of many continually exaggerated retellings, military personnel love to share tales) Again great story so far and I look forward to more whatever direction you take it
@DrCreepen
@DrCreepen 5 ай бұрын
''The private that had the copy of the piece of paperwork is more than he seems.'' This was hopefully ambiguous enough that it could go either way. From a story point of view, 'he's there if I need him.' ''The connection to Project Paperclip can/should lead to an entire web of interconnected experimental programs with similar goals.'' Love this; it kind of sums up where I was planning on taking this! Many thanks for your suggestions; this has probably helped nudge me in certain directions.

Great story doc! It sucks you right in! This hour flew by. It would be neat if the professor could find out more details about the supernatural experiments and how they were conducted. Why the soldiers died. If any survived and he could spreak with him/ them. And that he could help the spirits who warn the living somehow to find peace. Confront the powers that be with his findings but putting the eternal souls of those to rest before the urge to expose the gruesome experiments by the army and not making them public in return for some ceremony at the 2 bases.

Loved the story. Food for thought & plot development - hidden secrets research project. Little bit OSINT, little bit Indiana Jones. Convenient location for “home” in WV. Greenbrier Resort in WV once housed a fall out shelter for congress, constructed in the early 60s. Maybe buried documents in a far off corner with the bunker built as a red herring to hide the real secret? Also close to “home” is a place called Bedford Springs Inn (Bedford, PA - remote mountain town famous for nothing.) inn is currently an Omni resort. Has a lot of hidden secrets according to local lore and legend. Similar to the Greenbriar bunker but less public knowledge. Also known as (in best mountain hick accent - ) “Why else didn’t they tear that down if it wasn’t being used for something?!”

Absolutely loved it. In terms of space, it could even make a turn in Germany itself. I would love for the resolve to stay creepy and suoernatural, maybe playing on the idea that our world is not as much removed from the spiritual/ supernatural world as we choose to believe. Great work!

I would be more than happy to assist you in fleshing out your series. (I wish I'd have come up with the premise myself) Be advised that the US Army caved to political pressure and renamed nine of our biggest Army bases to conform with current woke sensibilities. (I'll send you the list) For instance, Fort Bragg has been renamed Fort Liberty after the auto insurance company of the same name. I would strongly suggest against using any of the new politically correct names as they are liked by approximately 0.0000107% of Soldiers serving in the Army just behind pulling CQ duty on a holiday weekend and command directed mandatory fun day

I’d love for this to go into interdimensional beings, the military commanders could be trying to keep a top secret project that allows us to communicate across the dimensional veil, under wraps. The paranormal disturbances could be the beings trying to communicate back.

I think the writing was excellent, I just don't get who is sending the investigator in when the generals want to hide everything. I see no one yet has given any ideas on how to continue it...maybe work with some clergy to put the tortured souls to rest? But of course the truth has to come out first. How do these present day generals know so much about the past so long ago?

This is outstanding! I listen to Your podcasts daily while working, but have never commented on KZbin in my life. This is a first! I enjoyed the story immensely as it touches the creepiest thing in existence which is Nazi experiments. I would have a few ideas for this: I would imagine a war across time, between Nazi Germany and modern day NATO or even just the US, where the frontline moves across time, the Nazi entry point would be Riese, with exit at the bases You have described. Krieger could be connected to Himmler's "Hexen" research and a double agent , hence the ongoing war ( Thomson's death was in the 70s) You could spin a massive conspiracy, where most modern conflicts would be a cover up for the war losses. Let's say the process of time travel has something to do with Nicola Tesla's wireless transfer of energy, hence the lights in the desert. Energy that Nazi Germany is leeching from our time for its war effort. I could think of a few more ideas, yet my break is nearly over, so all the best and Please make it into so much more than just a ghost story! All the best

Or possibly the time travel could work a bit like Mars transfer, possible only at certain points in time, The Nazis would have sent a major force through, destroying Riese in the process, and we're aiming for just after the fall of Soviet union as not to have to fight them after failing Barbarossa, the plan has partially failed and the troops have scattered over multiple points in time, You could mention the Glocke possibly as means of travel and leeching energy, which is required for the bulk of the force, which are currently stuck in limbo between time, to fully make it through, as for the creepy part I would imagine opening the portal would involve sacrificing a medium ( Hexen research) in some gruesome way, let's say you need to spread the nervous system over a large area. Hope any of this will be of any use.

Very good start to what could be a deep dive into the darker side of military black projects. My thoughts would be you need to sort out the point(s) of origin for the original thought(s) / purpose(s) for such experiments. From there, the path that leads to the end results of the apparent volunteers... and to what extent the military is aware. These are just broad stokes of a story layout, it would takes pages of typing to flesh it all out

You left out Scotland County and Richmond county as well. Luzon Drop Zone is part of the SF and Rangers’ training area. Camp Mackall is considered Ft Bragg (Ft Liberty now). Quite a few literal ‘weird things’ happened out there. Several SF guys ‘randomly’ died and found in a ditch within a couple years.

Very good story it is captivating. I am curious what is hidden in the bunkers that is a real mystery. Perhaps the answers lie in the ammunition bunkers maybe some kind of laboratory or machinery. This story would make a great book.

I listen to a lot of your videos and didn't even know u created/wrote your own original content as well. This is tickeling something good. I don't have any wild and original suggestions myself and don't know if this suggestion is kinda off base since these aren't strictly military stories but I would love for you to check out some of these authors stories, to maybe inspire some of your future narrative on this series. I don't remember them all so will have to go look around, but I will reply to this comment with my suggestions, once I locate them. Mind you, I am not suggesting stories to be copied but more as fuel for your imagination. (Not that I am implying you would copy but more to make my intentions with these suggestions clear) Which is also part of the point since I am not looking for a variation of these but find them fantastic and have a feeling some of it could help you come up with your own great story, maybe with slight thematic springles/spice :)

@DrCreepen Might want to decide the current military motivations. Are they merely protecting their reputation, or are they continuing or planning to continue the experiments? Knowing the answer to that will help your plotting. It could be individual commander's reputations instead of the military as a whole. Or it can be a combination of these motivations. Also, there could be some Senators involved in this, because US Senators tend to be the longest careered top government officials because of 6yr terms and extremely high rates of re-election. I know that this isn't a political thriller, but having the context set in your mind will help you decide on antagonist behaviors. As for the weird, go with your heart. It could be soldiers turned into spirits by super-science, then compelled to kill by occult ritual contract. Or the reverse, turned into spirits by the occult and sent abroad by energy transmission and compelled to kill nearby uniformed military. Also, it could be that the soldiers who spoke with that anomalous private get bumped off by the government forces keeping it quiet, either by conventional sabotage, or by ordering the anomaly to get rid of them. Finally, speaking with the anomaly could trigger a pre-determined curse if certain criteria are present. Best of luck, and I look forward to your future work!

I enjoyed this one a lot and am very curious about where it goes. And about that... Those experiments are of course not finished. The occult parts was more than the military could handle, and some doorways were never properly closed. Voila, links to parallel cold war realities, hell and places rather far from logic and sanity. And what came through those doors, deciding it would be a good idea to stay?

Great stories. As ending, the two generals at the two bases were successful participants in the Nazi experiments, now working to undermine US security as part of a post-WW2 group collaborating with extraterrestrials, planning to invade the world via the 5th dimension.
