i quit almost a week ago and im taking this as a sign. i want to write something on you too (im a journalist, im extremely inspired by your physical actions in putting yourself in harms way of these people). this whole experience with withdrawals, addiction, i did not realize i had a nicotine addiction at all (which is really a vape addiction, because its really, A NEW DRUG)- until i was literally not able to get it. headaches, anxiety, stomach pains. after a week of complete clarity- my brain felt like it used to. i had no idea that anything was different AT ALL- when i was on vape. that s*** is a drug. this caused me to through every *empty* vape i had out. nasty nasty world. if you smoke vapes, i know it feels like you wont stop. i smoked this since my senior year of high school. i am 23 now. and JUST quit. my brain feels sooo different, and like a person i did not even know i forgot. i know it sounds so dramatic because "its just a vape" but its really really not. its a new drug.

As someone who had people around me vaping all the time at school and always being offered saying no the pure pressure really sucked and i finally caved when my ex was wanting me to do it too. I was vaping for about 2-3 years i’ve finally quit and just in the first month of quitting so much has changed. It’s been about 4 months now and i feel like myself again. As a nurse at the ER told me, vaping literally causes wet air to get sucked in and trapped in your lungs = mildew and mold building up full of chemicalss that are supposed to be "fuji ice". I stopped vaping in December, I threw my last vape in the garbage and I was given nicotine gum to help get me off nicotine for good. It's definitely helping. Before I did this, it hurt to breathe. Like, my lung capacity was decreasing over the years. I also do Uber and work as a para in school. My last ride yesterday was with a tenth grader who had more willpower than any adult i've seen committed to quitting weed and vaping. She explained she's been addicted since before she came into middle school and now shes finally trying to stop even though her entire school has a vape like it's a pack of gum
