what they probably meant was you feel their embarrassment, not that you also see them as embarrassing. i could definitely feel it too even though he looked in the zone haha, he hyped up the embarrassment the way he expressed it, too i think the more correct term is emotional contagion. second-hand embarrassment implies that you also see the situation as actually embarrassing, where emotional contagion just means you share their feelings. he felt embarrassed on the inside, which we can also feel from the way he described the anxiety, but he did not realize how well he blended in on the outwards. its also hard to judge how well you blend in even when you get to see it afterwards from a third perspective. we may judge how we appear towards others much more critically if the embarrassment still feels real

ooomg let me tell you, despite being indie bands, Visual Kei bands in general are super talented and absolutely slay the vocals just as in the studio version! although yeah vocal perfection isn't everything; it's their passion and showmanship in performing that make the whole concert a memorable experience. I've only been to two visual kei lives to see one of my favs REIGN. Five years have passed since then but I still remember how good their performance was😍😍 forever carved in my heart.

As it is not an genre, and it is hard to be defined it includes variety of music genres rock, metal, pop, folk, dubstep, classical, neo-classical, techno, r&b, gore, etc (japanese music is mainly mix of genres also, be it overall defined by western standards as pop, rock, rap etc - but they interrsect inbetween, only recently due to comercialization music in Japan started to be divided more like abroad). Visual kei is mostly about BAND CONCEPT and STAGE APPEARANCE. There are many sub-genres of visual kei (oshare kei - colorful vivid cheerful look with sarcasm/irony/satire or just positive joker mode, nagoya kei - darker style with more metal elements, shibuya kei / experimental sound and frenzy look, etc). If you are interested in how old visual kei or beginning of visual kei act in Japan started to be popular even in manga/anime there's series called KAIKAN PHRASE which deals about visual kei band and its vocalist is the main (it;s romantic story btw, but pretty solid is shown visual kei world at that time of end of 90's). As of today for visual kei there are 4 decades of existence already. Visual kei actually includes various things inside whole style/concept/act - from traditional japanese, to western influence and modern century trends in popular and entertainment world. VK music is vast as Chisa said so hope you can find some bands suitable to ur taste :)
