Georgie, you are very lucky that you had that warning that the seizure was coming!

I know! Do you have epilepsy?
@emilyexorcismzombie8 жыл бұрын
Georgie Girl nope, just a nurse who is suuuper into neuroscience and studying epilepsy. I have no idea why I love to study epilepsy so much, but it really fascinates me. I think its because I love knowing about neurons and how they work! I did however have experience with menstrual migraines related to birth control when I was 15-17 during the migraines I did experience feeling very out of it and scared some times. I also had either 1 simple partial or vasovagal attack (seemed like vasovagal but I had a burning rubber smell before it hit and a taste aura the same night) I also had a few migraines where I had a few myoclonic jerks. I have been fine since :) I don't think it was ever epileptic but just related to migraines and not resting the whole time during them.

Georgie Girl The best advice look into the vns before the brain surgery cause the surgery with that with in 10 years your seizures will come back

I have had the surgery for seizures best advice when you go in for e.e.g figure out what makes you have seizures cause the more seizures you have during the e.e.g the better they can pin point were it coming from

Sorry to hear about your seizure, after a long time without one I know it is a bad feeling when it happens again. Having a warning sounds scary, but must prevent you from a lot of bad injuries. @epilepsysocial on twitter

you seem to have one of the types of absence seizures like what I some times would have before it changed to grand mal seizures when i was 10 or 11

Same thing happened when i went to San Francisco. Was fine for over a year before the trip. Must be lack of sleep or something
@georgie94248 жыл бұрын
Yeah - it's really frustrating isn't it. How's it all going for you now?

+Georgie Girl It seemed to have made things worse from that day on. No full seizures but from time to time I'm awoken at night around 6am where my leg would seizure out a little (That's where it all starts). Never had that prior to the event. I find meditating before I sleep and stretching every night definitely helps. Also, I'm pretty sure it only happens on really hot nights. So could be the heat too. Who knows lol. Feeling blessed to be alive so it's all good. :)

I'm sorry to hear that but the meditating and stretching sounds like a good idea! Yes, I don't get on well with hot nights too either!! I like your positivity :)

Georgie Girl Ask doctor is the vns In option cause with the surgery you have to have seizures during the e.e.g so they can figure out were there coming from it is a strain on the body
@mikesimmerman44578 жыл бұрын
Georgie Girl Once you choose to go for surgery don't back out its along process cause your have to go tons of MRI scans an lot of them an e.e.gs were they will take you off meds so you can have seizures so they know were there coming from it is 2 surgery's one to put the electrodes on your brain an pin point the area that causing it 2nd to remove that area an the damage area around it
