He is gone now and I am trying to have a good relationship with my mom. His kids and I are trying to reunite and be a family again also. He was very narcissistic and home life was so dysfunctional!!

My husband and I watch all of your and Dearly's videos, but this one really spoke to me. I can relate on so many levels. My parents both passed away in February 2011. I haven't seen or heard from my extended family in 20 years. I have one son whom I haven't seen in 7 years. I was adopted as a baby and since my (adopted) parents passed in 2011 I miss having family. I can relate to losing your parents and being adopted as a baby. I did Ancestry DNA and hit the lottery and found both of my biological parents. Mind you I was 60 at the time I did this. Mainly wanted to find my heritage and find out any health issues. In finding my parents , my Mother had passed, but found 2 half siblings and a boat load of cousins, my Grandmother was one of 15... so you do the math, LOL! I was welcomed with open arms. My Father was 84 when I found him. He knew nothing about me. But through phone calls we set up a time to meet. Joyfully he held me in his arms . Then his wife, I know call her Mom Claire, held me. Then I met my 4 half siblings. My sister, 3 years younger, and I could pass as twins !! Now 4 years later, I speak to my Poppa on a daily basis, he's 90 and going strong. My brother ,on Mother's side , are on the phone at least twice a week. Constant contact with cousins. All this to say, that hole in my heart has been filled! God bless you !!

So glad you made no excuses to your daughter and took responsibility for your choices. That should help her in her quest to understand it was not because it was something wrong with her. Maybe you can keep in touch often whether she responds or not. She needs to be told you are in awe of her ability to write and survive. It will mean a lot to the wounds she has. When I turned 18 I was able to and man it was awesome. As you already know I lost my Dad it was so hard. God is good and they will come around. Kevin, you are an honest and humble human being plus you are a MAN. What you shared to strangers like myself takes courage to talk about your family situation. I'm sure we will never meet in person but I watch your videos daily, perhaps I don't comment too much but do from time-to-time. Selfishly I feel you are a friend to me. I'm 48 years old, very close in age to you as I understand when you reference bands from the 90's as I listened and played some of them while in college at the campus radio station and eventually earned my degree in broadcasting(my proudest life achievement). I pray more people seek God's love, understanding and forgiveness through His son Jesus (myself also) daily. What's happened is truly a miracle, not coincidence indeed 🙏❤️. From a man who lost his only sibling 12 yr ago, not a day goes by that some little thing will remind me of him. I have tears in my eyes writing to you. I am so happy you have reunited with your family. I have no idea the situation with you and your father. All I can say is 6 years ago my mother called me and said my dad had cancer. The first thing that I thought of was "When was the last time you did anything with your dad?. To be honest it scared the hell out of me. He beat it and another bout with it. I had to move back to my home town to the home I grew up in and left at 18 never to live there again, to care for him and my mother. he is now 83 and I can see his mind and ability to do everyday things slipping away. The best thing that has ever happened to me is having to come back to a town I am not real fond of and live for my parents.
