Wasn't Maurice Leafs coach at one time? I seem to remember that, but it was a long time ago and the Leafs have had a lot of coaches since then. I think the west will be a cakewalk for Edmonton. I don't see any of those other teams being a real challenge. The east can be any team, but I'd like to see the McLeod brothers playing each other in the finals. OK, that doesn't have the glamour of, say, the Tkachuk brothers playing each other, since the McLeods are both bottom 6 guys. But Edmonton vs. New Jersey sounds like ti would be fun, anyway.

Their record against Vegas is really good, too. I do agree with you saying that goaltending consistency could be an issue, but with how skinner played in the regular season, it should not be a bigg concern. I feel like the series would be quite close with 2 very strong teams. Vegas is a little more defensive than Edmonton, but Edmonton had the most goals for this regular season. As a oilers fan, I am kinda biased but going with Edmonton in this series in 6. Edmonton could win the stanley cup if they hold everything together(offense, defense and goaltending). What most people fail to realize is that the regular season means almost nothing once the playoffs start. Teams like the Panthers and Kraken are built for playoff success. Old and slow teams like the Bruins and Rangers are not. I learned this over the past 4-5 years being a Penguins fan. If you have a fast team in the correct system, you can smother the older more experienced team in the playoffs where everyone goes 100% all the time.

Dallas in 5 is a pipe dream at this point. Last night was unforgivable. Otter having a 52 second mental meltdown was all it took to allow this one to get away from the Stars. Then again as has happened now 16 times this season they lose in OT and Otter gets beat by a wild shot from nowhere that somehow beats him over the top right shoulder which was the 3rd such goal in the game. 4 goals allowed in one period is the most he's ever given up in one period and the most of any net minder in these playoffs so far. The Stars won't win this series much less get any further if he doesn't play better than that. Robertson is another issue. He looks unprepared for the physicality of the post season....again. He just doesn't seem built for this kind of hockey and he has the mobility and athleticism of a new born Giraffe. Hintz has proven to be a much stronger, tougher and faster player in the post season yet he was a no show too last night. If not for Pavs, the oldest player on the team coming off a 5 game absence due to a concussion no less, the Stars would have been blown out and embarrassed on their home ice.
