I was playing with a Bluegrass band back in the 2000s and we were on a local morning TV show promoting a Bluegrass festival. We had gone to a commercial break just before the end and our banjo player handed the banjo to the TV girl. He told her "pluck this string, this string and that string." She did and he said "do it again." She did. He said "do it again but faster." She did and by the time we came back from the commercial break she was playing a little banjo roll. She kept playing as she wrapped up and we were out. You never saw such a big smile in your life. She just kept saying "I played the banjo! I played the banjo!"

Real nice. I think that tune is a very popular 'first tune' for new banjo players. I, myself, don't play the banjo but for grins and giggles I learned it on the guitar, or some would say adapted it to the guitar. I've always wanted to do a 'dueling banjos' type thing using this song. 😂❤👍

Not to bad LEFTY , I am a lefty banjo player too. I've been playing since 1973 I own an ALVEREZ Silver Belle. Keep up the good work. I have given many lessons to a LOT of new players. Back in my younger years I had a chance to play with Roy Clark. You will never know where this 5 string might take you. You should really think about getting a teacher .Self teaching can be a bad thing. I am teaching an older person to break his self taught habits. He can play pretty good BUT he can't play with anyone. He has got his ways set and it is very hard for him to change .I will watch you and if you might want some free advise just let me know. You are doing pretty good for being self taught. Also being a LEFTY almost ALL our music is for right hand. If you can read TAB you will be ok. .Might want to start learning ALL the rolls. Good Luck , and DON'T give up. The banjo is one of the hardest instruments to learn.
