Because the show requests that potential brides bring someone controversial, if possible, in order to up the drama. There have been brides who went on record to say that producers deliberately asked them to bring family members or friends that they have issues with or haven't spoken to in a while. Hence why you sometimes see mothers or fathers being trotted out where the bride admits to not having a good relationship with them and the parent is controlling or downright monstrous to their daughter. If the show always had a supportive entourage it would get boring very quick for a number of people. Why do you think the show Bridezilla was so popular? People need a polarizing character.

I am guessing that she met him when she was in a state of insecurities and weakness, seeing about how she said her groom wouldn’t leave her alone and that’s why she probably met Chance. Chance is someone who I can see is a confident, “unique,” bold person. Something that she wasn’t. So now that she’s been able to get her confidence and that she’s finally able to stand tall, Chance I can see hates that. And that’s why she keeps trying to bring her down. With these words and insults, he’s trying to keep her dependent on him. He’s a narcissist. He wants her to depend on him as a friend. And when he doesn’t get his way, he throws a tantrum which makes her feel she HAS to give him what he wants. There’s a fine line between “keeping it real” and being straight up rude. Like I can appreciate honesty, but there’s definitely better ways to go about it than what this guy demonstrated. It’s kind of a reoccurring thing in this show too, where there’s always someone who is part of the bridal party who is “just being honest.” When in reality, they’re throwing their weight around and being unsupportive and unbearable. I hate to use the word (because it’s used so often) but “toxic” is the only way to really describe that behavior. Some people just don’t understand that line.
