Great video, thanks. You've got a lot of wisdom! I doubt I was half as wise when I was your age.. Heck I doubt I am even now! I've just finished my 5th novel -- doing minor revisions and polish now. Like you I want to dictate more but find it hard to shift into writing mode without seeing words onscreen that I can fix and move with my fingers on the keyboard as I go. Talking out story ideas while walking and then transcribing that audio is very helpful though.

Love your videos so much, Claire! Although paranormal is not a genre I typically read, I just got your first book on Audible. Looking forward to going through it! Thanks for all the work you do!

Ah, needed that reminder. Persistence truly is the key. I've completed just one story till now and I'm super proud of how persistence I was for that one. The other ideas, that I loved so much, have been left aside just because I couldn't figure out how to making it interesting. Which duh, you'll need a rough draft for first. Thank you so much for the video! I know it takes long for stories but I'd say you're still quite fast, for sure for a 180K book. The boy's so cute!! The name's really cute too! Did you have a story behind the name or just a cute name you came up with?

Can you go over your process of plotting 1st, 2nd and final drafts? It is also a bit confusing as I listened to your 2 videos on writing first drafts fast and you adviced against doing too much plot and just having the major milestones. Is this Zero draft on your spreadsheet? And what you are showing is more the 2nd and subsequent flashing out of the plot? Or is it what you are doing for the 4th book in the series since you need to tie the characters together? It would be very helpful to get an overview of plot griding from zero to final drafts. I am doing my first novel and kinda stuck right now trying to figure out just the basics per plotting. I have taken classes, read books and listened to a lot of writers on YT but yours seem to resonate most in terms of my style. Thanks much for all the great content. Just discovered you :)

What writing program do you use? Google docs? Scrivener? MS Word? Or something else entirely? And why? Just curious. I'm an antique granny trying to write my first book. It's an adult mystery.I am rewriting the first draft over as I was told I need to work on the timeline and flesh out the characters. I'm kind of stuck in the middle of it. So I'm taking a break from it and trying to write a Middle Grade mystery adventure with a bit of witchy, book for my grandchildren for Christmas. I love your KZbin videos. I just ordered the first book in your series.

I’ve been daily writing everyday now for a couple of months. I only wrote about 600 words a day. Should I be upping that?

Is the dog into fantasy thrillers? Or more of a romance novel guy?
