I kept a bullet journal

It's nice to have a journal to keep track of things. Have a journal of my own, though that's mostly to write down my mood. It's nice to look back at all the good and bad that has happened. It's also nice to just see the various changes that you jot down in the book. Kinda like writing the story of your life and seeing the character progression. I totally see this journal as a really good keepsake for the future. Hope you make more stuff like this :)

Sounds like a cool concept. Not for me, but I could see plenty of persons I know using something similar. Also, not understanding dutch, made the few English words dotted around rather funny. My favourite of these has to be the "Fuck it" between dutch.

I do a similar thing with my sketchbooks where I just glue memorabilia in them, just some random stuff but it's the best thing in to world to look back at, it just incases those moments into something and every time I open an old sketchbook it all comes flooding out. Yeh yeh you could totally just purely use it for goal tracking and the like. It's all up to the individual as to what you wanna put in your journal. Bullet journal are very cool. It pretty much could make you productive even if it's just writing. I really want to try but I'm waaaaaaaaaaaay too lazy from an average person 💀 (+ no money to buy the materials etc)

I mean you could start out super simple, by just having a plain notebook and writing in it whenever you please. No need for super fancy spreads and theming and all that right away. Eventually you will find out what does and doesn't work for you!! But again, it's totally up to you.

Again if you wanna start super simpel you can always start out by having a regular notebook with just having some super basic elements, no fancy decoration or anything. Eventually you'll figure out what does and doesn't work for you. What you do and don't enjoy/find useful. Perhaps journaling might help you, perhaps it won't, either outcome is fine!!

I LOVE this new format of smol blob Yuu standing on books and sitting on markers and stuff, soo cute! I was going to mention the horrible inefficiency of making these journals and also their terrible opportunity cost, but in reality the journal can be considered less a task book and more a "memorabilia with some art and cute stickers" since the journal actually came out nice in the end. If you're purely using it as a productivity planner / extensive to do list, then it indeed might be a bit counter intuitive. Though I can still see the benefit in it for some people. Especially those who work jobs where they gotta keep track of a million and one things.

Awesome! 🌟 Having something to look back on must be nice. But I’m a bit of a perfectionist too, so not being able to change stuff would be a challenge for me too. On the other hand, it could help me to find a new voice, and to plan what I write before I write it. Time to add colored markers to my shopping list!

Ah just your average Canon printer we've got at home. Really you can use about any inkjet or laserprinter printer. Right now I'm just using just basic print settings with standard printer paper. Though I am planning on buying my own printer fairly soon for the whole sticker shop stuff. But again, I don't think the type of printer really matters much!!

I mean you don't necessarily have to make it super detailed, or even physically write it. There's also digital journal software like RedNotebook that allow you to write entries. Plus there's no requirements of what you journal needs to have, if anything you just gotta mould it to whatever your personal needs are.

I mean you don't necessarily have to make it very extravagant. Just keeping a regular notebook is already fine. What you put in your journal is all up to you. And if writing doesn't appeal to you, there's also software like RedNotebook that are extremely simple digital journals.

I think it is a very therapeutic activity especially if you have perfectionistic tendencies. It feels super freeing once you learn to be OK with having a page that looks "not that good". Rather than beating yourself up for it. Oh and if you want pointers on where to start, AliExpress has a tooooon of washi tape and stickers for sale. Beyond that I'd highly recommend checkout out a bunch of bullet journal videos here on KZbin, so you can see what possible spreads you wanna include in yours. After all what you want/need out of your journal is gonna vary a lot from person to person. Either way, good luck!! 😊

It's actually not that bad when it comes to time!! Like.. the initial set up with all the yearly spreads and such indeed will take you a couple hours. But once that's finished, adding entries doesn't take too long. Personally I usually spend maybe 15 mins per new entry. And once every 1 or 2 months I'll print out all the pictures and images and paste them in place. Till then I usually just draw placeholder outlines. But it's totally up to you if feel it's worth the time or not.

You decide what you want to add to it and how you want to update it. Like, for me, I only update(d) it for learning something new outside of my college major and it's just plain text and bulletpoints. Nothing fancy, but it did help me maintain interest in learning for myself.

Ah that's alright. The initial set up and purchasing of materials can indeed be a bit time consuming. Of course I only recommend giving this all a try if you still got time for additional hobbies, but personally I do think the initial investment of time is definitely worth it, and really helps you wind down and chill after a long productive day. I like the aesthetic of bullet journals. Though I've never personally understood the ones that people make that leave absolutely NO writing space, and are basically entirely aesthetic. At that point, it physically can't be used. What're your thoughts, if you see this?

I guess some people just get a lot of relaxation and gratification from the art of decoration. Which is completely fine too!! Personally it's not really my cup of tea, as I do need words and such to express myself on paper, but I can totally see how some people prefer to express themselves using just washi-tape, markers, stickers, etc.

Best thing I can think of is just office suites like Microsoft Word/WPS Writer/LibreOffice Writer. The basic stuff. You just use text boxes or specific fonts and color schemes to make pages look better. That's the old-school way.
