I killed a 100k instagram for similar reasons, mainly the break, no regrets, algo chasing is too consuming and I’m much happier without that in my life
@JamesBachiciChannel2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing. Honest and transparent conversations are rare these days. I discovered your channel today looking up Peter M V2 backpack reviews and I was blown away by the low view numbers compared to the quality content you clearly put into your uploads. You’ve got a new sub from me though 👍 Back to the break/niche subject, my channel (this one I’m using right now) grew exponentially when I uploaded a travel video of Dubai. Initially it was my automotive channel, but since then, and because of the massive growth I experienced it’s now a travel/auto channel. Even more recently I made a secondary channel focusing on my other passion and hobby - watches. It’s small but I figured, and to your point, people sub and follow you for a specific type of content. Not a variety sampler. At the end of the day I don’t consider myself a “KZbinr” simply because I don’t stress about having to upload a video every X days. I create, edit and upload what I think will be fun and interesting for me first and foremost and if people get goodness out of it, then that’s a bonus. Not to say I don’t care, I do, but my primary goal with my channels is to have fun and learn new creative ways to express my hobbies and interests 😃 Anyways, keep up the great work, love the camera and video content, keep the shorts at the start of your videos coming (they’re awesome) and stay awesome Tristan 🙌

Hey James, just now seeing you comment man. First of all, welcome to the channel man. SO glad to have you here, and your comment is extremely valuable (I read through it a few times just for it to sink in). All in all, this has been a huge learning experience for me. The biggest lesson I took away from this was to make my niche clear, and stick too it. Unfortunately my channel is continuing to take it hit, but I really hope it can bounce back. I can say I “could’ve done this” or I “should’ve done that, but what’s done is done. I guess what’s important now is to create what I like, to enjoy doing it it, and not let the numbers discourage me too much. Again man, thank you for your comment, and I hope you stick around for awhile. 🤟🏿

I sometimes struggle with this myself too, Tristan. Feeling like we can only make videos about 1 topic in our channel is so limiting for our creativity. I think maybe creating a separate channel allows us to jump back and forth; and to have more freedom to post different things, like you said 👍
@TristanErvin2 жыл бұрын
I can definitely see the reason for creating that second channel, especially for creative freedom. It's just a lot of work, I'm not sure I have the bandwidth lol

I came here for the wobbly monitor but stayed for the back of the truck talk. You'd make a great interviewer "Truck stop interviews" or "Flat bed interviews" where you talk to people hanging out at the back of your truck?
@CJKnowsTECH2 жыл бұрын
To be honest the “camera filmmaking space” is a very low pace niche. That content is not a high volume space. So it’s only normal for the switch back to be slow. I’m currently creating Car content even though my audience is mainly Tech. But I understand that my car content is a totally new audience I have to build. But like you said consistency is key. Just stay focused do your research and build in that niche. Again the camera space is a very slow pace niche and you have to build true supporters in that niche or any niche for that matter. Do not get discouraged stay determined.
@TristanErvin2 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with that, and that's why I'm trying not beat myself up too much about the numbers being low. Question - did you consider creating a separate channel for your car content? And if you so, what was the reasoning for not doing that? I've seen a handful of creators go with a separate channel, and vice-versa - both sides tend to have very valid reasons.
@CJKnowsTECH2 жыл бұрын
@@TristanErvin Yes of course i've considered it but I've tried to make a separate channel in the past and to be totally honest running ONE channel is a big enough workload let alone TWO. So in essence I'm experimenting with building multiple audiences in one place. Only way to know is to try. But running 2 separate channels is really tough. I think when you can delegate most of the work from one channel on others(editing, filming, etc.) then a second channel is more feasible or ideal. But the thought definitely has crossed my mind. Tough side of being a creator I guess. Stay motivated

Yeah it’s very hard to keep up with. I was doing videos once a day for probably eight months straight. And I finally had to just take a break at the beginning of the year and decide to do videos every other day. It’s helped me a lot mentally. But you’re right the main thing you need to stay on top of is having consistent videos go out every week even if it’s once a week.

I think the reason the S73 videos are so popular is even though there are a handful of people who only focus on that content, there are so, so many more people reviewing and talking about camera gear and other tech equipment. KZbin is saturated with that stuff. So even though you do a great job with all your content, you are really an expert with your S73 videos. Don’t take it personally. Just do your thing and you’ll get new subscribers over time. Keep up the great work, and we can always see you do ebike content on the Super73 YT channel as long as you work for them.

I get it! I'm the same! I had a daughter 2 years ago and I just couldn't find the time to make videos while working 9to5 etc... Now I uploaded a totally different kind of video and it just flopped, no surprises here. I'm questioning myself, maybe creating a new channel is the best but the way youtube works where you have to bring that new channel to a minimum to start monetizing again... that's no good, I wish that once you had one monetizing channel you could start another one that starts monetizing from day one. Anyway, I found you because I was looking for a rig on the Zhiyun Weebill S. I find that tutorial kind of videos still get found through Google search in my case (music production in my case).

I think the best way to tackle content creation is by having channels dedicated to each niche content. You could have a gaming channel, a food channel, a super-73 channel... It allows people to focus better without having to compromise your authenticity and mentality. there might be a lot of work, but so as long as you don't think too hard about it, people will start to appreciate it. Another plus side of it is that you can boost more viewership and sponsorships (if you choose to). It's completely understandable for you to take breaks wherever you can. KZbin isn't going away, super-73 content is not "dead" and it doesn't have to be. Take your time!

Hey man. You should watch Henny Tha Bizness’ recent live. The first 10 minutes he talks about the struggle of making content and creating what you like. Just remember, make what you like and don’t get so caught up in the numbers and engagement. I only have a couple hundred subs, but I like to learn from others on this subject. Just do what your passionate about and do it to bring knowledge and enjoyment to yourself. People follow passions. As you know, but would creating a separate channel really have been any better? Look at Mattie and his stuff on one wheels. It’s not his niche, but he enjoys them and making vids on them
