My wife is Filipina. She drags me shopping in Las Vegas. On her own, she is VERY thrifty. When I come with her, she never has her own wallet, which I usually discover at the checkout. I have learned it is better to stay in the car while she shops, even if it is 110F outside.

Food prices look to be as high as here in the US. $400 for a desk chair is higher than most available at Staples.

I love going to Home Pro in Market Village. Sometimes there are some bargains. You're right, they employ a lot of Thai staff who do a very good job of keeping the store tidy and avoiding the many farang customers that come in.
