How bout cutting the buzzer wire off about 1/2” to increase the hook bite 1 1/2 “ to 2” to increase your hookups.?

Keep your rod tip up. Generally, just fast enough to keep it on the surface of the water. Maybe a little faster in warmer water for active fish.

All depends on conditions and size. I throw 1/2 oz mostly for ease and distance of casting. Usually reel it moderate to fast
