If you feed your chickens shells, make sure to grind it up fine, and preferably mix with something else. The last thing you want is for a hen to realize that the eggs are food. Not much you can do at that point but fire up the stove.

You can give them their full eggs, they’d eat them in nature if unfertilized. They lose calcium after every egg the lay, they need to eat them to get that back. 👏🏻

If you want good tomatoes, try Currant Tomatoes. They’re the size of a cranberry and are the closest thing to wild tomatoes you can really get, but oh my are they sweet and succulent

Always love your content. I just wanted to say, we do feed our eggs and shells to chickens, though we process them first... Grind shells, scramble eggs. We had an egg eater and don't want to encourage it when they see the regular shell.

Tips for growing carrots use a pitchfork and loosen the dirt as close as possible to the growing carrot for straight long carrots.. Tips for growing big onions bulbs, just step all over the green stems when they're half grown, youll get hugh bulbs, believe it or not, try it on like 5 bulbs....

Great Grandma had a root cellar that Great Grandpa dug for her. It was either next to the house or under it. Stayed cold down there all year round. Good place to store your produce and canned preserves.

@@sleepycookie9470 I don't dry it, I just grind it into a powder (coffee grinder) and put it into whatever food is for lunch, whether it's some chopped vegetables or grain. I think drying it is important if you want to keep it around for a while, but I'm not too sure. I've never done it, and never had an issue.

Theres a huge difference between farming and gardening, I farm 1500 acres ( corn and beans) I also have a 5 acre garden!! I've already had broccoli, 4 kinds of lettuce, radishes, strawberries, 3 kinds of onions, garlic(planted last fall) and I'm about to start harvesting potato's!! And I've got a bunch of fruit trees I recently put in, it will be a few years before I actually get fruit!!!

My parents always braid the stems of the onions and garlic so they can store it somewhere up so nothing gets to them. And whenever they’re dry and u want to cook with them u just brake one off and since it’s dried the braid won’t open either so it stays like that that’s pretty cool I think😅

Hello, just so you know, if you give your chickens the whole egg shell they’ll start getting used to it and therefore they’ll start breaking their own eggs, even if you didn’t give it to them. What we do is we shred all our dry egg shells (we keep all the once we use in the kitchen) and then we’ll mix a little bit in with their food, cause that helps them get the nutrients back so that the next egg shells can be stronger. Feeding chickens eggshells sometimes leads to chickens eating their own eggs. It's fine as long as the shells are unrecognizable, for example if you grind up the shells and hide them in the food.

Don’t give the eggshells to just the hens give it to the chickens too it takes up a lot of calcium for chicken to lay its egg and by giving those shells to the chicken, your replenishing their calcium, and that helps to make more eggs😊
