Defensively, I'm not worried. I also don't know what Craig's talking about, but De Ligt has been decent. That aside, the big concern is that we have attackers who can't finish... not even sitters. So Amorim will have to work on that. The bottom line is that we just aren't scoring enough goals.

By ManU standards nowadays (which is a far cry from where it was), yes, just decent

The real test for Amorim long term is whether the club’s hierarchy will back the manager or yet again allow the players to get away with subpar performances after the initial and inevitable 4-6 month manager bounce. As Shaka rightly pointed out, a lot of what is now being said about Amorim was being said about Ten Hag just two years ago. The bigger picture problem at United has not been any one manager. It’s been the club’s hierarchy awarding ridiculous long term contracts to players on wages far above fair market value. Which has consistently allowed United squad after United squad to eventually down tools on managers every 12-18 months once they grow tire of them. And the players stick around for far too long on wages no other club will pay them, the next manager inherits a squad with players from 2-3 different managers, and the cycle repeats itself. Amorim needs to be fully backed by the club’s hierarchy and United’s players need to finally get the memo that constantly sacking managers isn’t going to fly anymore. United fans see right through it now.
@dead_r33d3 күн бұрын

We had Sebastian Coates that was a slow pace central defender and he was poor in a 2 central defenders setup. He resurfaced as a good central defender when Amorim changed the system. We have to wait and see, it all depends on the way the players accept the changes or not and commit to the plan and the idea. If not, in the summer, get rid of the rotten apples and start fresh.

From what I’ve seen, the difference between Amorim and No Hag is that Amorim seems to see what his players can and cannot do. From there, he can make adjustments. Plus, Yoro, Shaw, and Malacia getting healthy along with Mount could be pieces that COULD make this work. I stress could because a player like Rashford has a hand in getting four managers and an interim sacked. Good luck Amorim! I totally agree with you Craig. Amorim is definitely a top manager with even Liverpool at one time wanting to engage him. Many fans hope that Amorim can emulate the type of good start Liverpool enjoyed. Everyone knows Liverpool is the only team that can go head to head with City. We know teams like Arsenal, Spurs, Villa and Chelsea dont have that consistency to be able to go on a long winning run of 10 to 15 games. Only with this consistency can a team wins the league title. Thats why its imperative United together with Liverpool try to stop City winning their 6th title. The premier league is now getting too boring already.

When people talk about 3-4-3 are forgeting that its only happening when United are e possession of the ball. In defensive positioning there will be at least four defenders. He plays with a back wing more ofensive and another more defensive. The defensive winger has a midfielder more ofensive, and the atacking winger compensates with the midfielder more defensive .His biggest task will be to convince players to buy is system, cause is not gonna change his mindset. If needed he prefers less classy players , but that are willing to adapt and play that system , and essentialy for the best of the team , wich is the most important .
