I usually never comment on things, but thank you so much for making this video because I’ve never felt so understood in my love for owl city, he’s been a constant in my life for about 10 years now?? I think?? When I was about 12 a friend showed me to the sky one day during class and we would listen to it everyday since then. Even years after not even talking to that friend anymore I fell in love with the style, the instrumentals and the gorgeous imagery that Adam puts in his songs, it even seems like I fall in love deeper each year that passes and it seems like there are always new things I’ve never noticed before in his songs, little details or lyrics that have more meaning as I grow old. These days I’m listening to All Things Bright and Beautiful constantly everyday and angels is my favorite of the album for sure although plant life is really growing on me, I don’t even know what I’m saying anymore just wanted to say thank you I guess since I don’t really have people I can share this love with, hope you have a wonderful day :)

​@@davidtang2549 You expressed my thoughts.. i never knew anyone who even knew Adam, but a few weeks ago I found out that one guy in a math camp knew - and more importantly, really liked - When can I see you again. So the last night, when everyone was partying downstairs and we had the smaller reproductor all for ourselves, I played some of the songs to him (When can I see you again, Unbelievable, Verge and maybe My everything, if I remember correctly). He seemed to like them, but for me the most shocking thing was his reaction. Instead of saying something like „Nice songs“ he told me to not care that the others don't like Adam's style and listen to what I like and encouraged me to spread his optimistic music far and wide. What a legend. And what a great community around this singer ❤

SO excited for this! I was an owl city superfan as a kid, in 5th grade we had to write an essay but our hero and I wrote about adam. Definitely not as familiar with his discography as you are. So far, this is a great reminder how subjective these things are - the voice effect and hard cut on rainbow veins were my favorite part and I miss that lo-fi charm in his newer projects, which you seem to have a greater appreciation for. something to love for everyone :)

I'm happy I found your video. It was super fun listening to someone appreciate Owl City. My favorite Owl City song is Plant Life! I have "I'd rather waltz than just walk through the forest" tattooed on me. Umbrella Beach, Cave In, Angels, Designer Skyline, and Take Me Somewhere Nice are also some personal favorites. Owl City is that artist that I listened to all a time as a kid and is someone I keep coming back to randomly now. The Tornado has really got me back into listening to him regularly though, I really love the storytelling in that song and the double meaning (at least from my interpretation) of it being about going through a depressive episode, while I don’t suffer from depression personally I know people that have and I find this song really powerful. At that moment that’s my favourite, but there are loads of songs he’s done that I can listen to over and over again and never get bored of. Great list, I haven’t listened to all of these before so will definitely be filling in the gaps over the next few days!

This was so fun! Adam has been my favorite artist for a long time. Small correction on "Firebird" though - that song was actually about his wife's brother. I remember seeing somewhere that Adam wrote the song from the now-Mrs. Abbey Young's perspective, going back through her memory lane with her about how close she was with her brother growing up.

You should absolutely watch Cast Away. It’s a good movie plus I think you’ll appreciate the lyrics of Kelly Time more. I love how Adam reuses themes and lyrics throughout all his music. My favourite is that the “Cause I walk alone” part of Silhouette (2:45 - 3:10) is the same melody as the “I don’t feel so alone” (1:30 - 1:50) part of Vanilla Twilight. Oh mannn just rewatched this beautiful tier list and I must say that I thoroughly enjoy Owl City and I'm glad I was able to listen to his other songs beyond Fireflies. Personal faves among the bunch are definitely To The Sky and Silhouette (I also enjoy Alligator Sky no rap version). side note but I think Cinematic feels like a broadway musical but that's just me. An Owl City song I don’t hear talked about much is Clap Your Hands, which was in Everybody’s Golf. It’s so catchy and fun, and never fails to put me in a good mood. About the Mobile Orchestra album, he made a commentary version of each song, I believe it's on Spotify as well. And I recall him saying that I Found Love is actually a song about Death. Like someone who's looking back at all the accomplishments in life and now they're ready to depart from this life. I love that I’m just now realizing that a lot of owl city fans have similar back stories in their love and connection to owl city. Adam young has taken a good permanent chunk of my brain and resided there just jamming at all time since 2009 when I was 11. My favorite childhood memories are taking walks in the field in my back yard with headphones listening to owl city just escaping the world and freely feeling like myself. I continued taking these walks up to current. Since I gave birth to my son last year I haven’t been able to walk as much but I make sure to take time to play his music and give myself moments in time to escape once again into such a wonderful place❤️

As a extreme fan of owl city and adams music it was so cool you made this video! I mean constant talking over 5 hours, that's dedication. I actually thought I knew a lot of adams music but this video got me to realize I only scratched the surface of a whole ocu (owl city cinamatic universe.) Some of my favorites, "If My Heart Was a House" and "Silhouette" are certainly hidden gems. I recently also begain listening to the instrumentals from the albums and got a new favorite "Country Hymm" which is a nostalgic and peaceful track with a simplictic yet impactful piano tune. Kinda reminds me of the beginning owl city's song "Always" At the end of the day, its just really fun to jam out to these songs. There is so much variety in all their music- theres like a song for every day of the year ^^

2:01:30 my first thought was “Bet.” I’ve adored Owl City since Ocean Eyes first came out and I still listen to him all the time. But honestly you might have me beat by just making this list. I went through a period years ago listening to All Things Bright and Beautiful on repeat for months and completely burnt myself out on it. I've only just recently come back to that album to re-experience and re-appreciate it all over again. Ocean Eyes and Maybe I'm Dreaming were my gaming albums as a kid and I loved listening to them while playing RPGs. It's so cool how the experience of an album can completely change depending on where you're at. Adam's music is really perfect for that too, with his style of lyrics. I'm deep in a Coco Moon phase right now, haha.
