to upgrade already built walls when you buy the adobe skin, you first need to enable the building skins option, and then upgrade the wall again with stone in inventory. essentially it costs more stone if you build a base and then buy the adobe skin as oppose to building after buying the skin. if you already figured this out prince then i hope this helps anyone else who buys the skin and wants to know how to change existing walls to it.
