I am a native New Yorker (Brooklyn), but appreciate the contributions of both Thomas and Twinkie a great deal. Great stuff has come out of Chicago, Detroit, New York and the list goes on and on. I appreciate all of the contributions of all that have come before us. All the good stuff originated in Heaven. If we are SAVED, our citizenship is now in Heaven (Phil. 3:20).

Another classic by Thomas Whitfield that I just happen to stumble upon...Thankful to God for leading me to this song, needed to hear this after deeply thinking about some not so good personal situations but this song reassures me that God is in control of all situations, I feel him working it out for my good!

This (as far as I can remember) is the first song I ever associated with Thomas Whitfield. One of the first songs I remember learning as a kid in the choir. Great memories.

Sir! You are one anointed man. Even via your "ghost" posting of music, the humility is what gives strength to that anointing. Songs like this allow room for a needed catharsis. I NEED this reminder, "... nothing stop me..." Whitefield was ahead of his time yet divinely inspired for his time. Thank you!

Yes indeed. As I got older, I realized that The Company had an album out before this PT album came out (as a kid, the two sounds were alike and since some of the voices were the same I never realized one was a church choir and one was a community choir...LOL), but it was indeed this song that brought Thomas Whitfield's music to my attention. Tommy and Twinkie have had the most influence on my music and I'm PROUD to be a fellow Detroiter.

I heard the VoT sing a lot of the songs from this album in Chicago at the First Church of Deliverance in the late 70's. Mr. Whitfield was on the organ, and sang this song. I had never heard of him before then, but in the late 80's he became one of my favorites.

I thought I knew all of Reverend's stuff until you said this...lol...I never realized he covered this. I only knew Tommy's version with The Voices. This song is a classic. Often overlooked but a straight up CLASSIC staple in Gospel Music.

I have all of the Sound of Gospel recordings. Voices of Tabernacle also recorded the "Promise of God" LP in 1976 on that label.
