success is never linear but mate you really have done a lot for 23/24 year old, you lead a crew of guys, ran and still run a business paying a salary to employees, which some never achieve in a life time. Good on you mate, all the best, you're very driven and have no doubt you will find opportunity and success.

It's pretty easy to start out for yourself in bricklaying. If you can get a mate to partner with you, all you need to do is hire a labourer

Great to see you doing some different projects Ty, I've said it before and I'll say it again you don't make any money working for volume builders. Work off a per hour or day rate so you're not destorying your body trying to lay "x" amount of bricks per day to make a living. There's alot of work out there if you want it. All the best

Worked for myself by myself for many years and would have had it no other way. There’s times when a extra hand is useful but you manage. It’s good to try to expand your skill set if you have an aptitude for the other trades. Being a multi skilled tradesman opens you up to a greater amount of work and variation. A mix of indoor and outdoor jobs. Painting, plaster repairs, carpentry, tiling. Not all tradies seem to have that aptitude or interest but I can say that it is very beneficial to be able to diversify. Word of mouth is good for getting work as a brickie but you rarely get repeat work, most people only need the services of a brickie once in 20 years, but as a multi skilled tradesman you end up with both referral and plenty of repeat work.

Find it strange how Australia sounds exactly like England in building terms , interests rates , mortgages etc ! Why’s it happening at other end of the world as well ? Englands slowed down massively bricklaying terms but every other job are getting pay rises

They’re devaluing your currency. The fiat system has only lasts a certain duration.till the system is overladen with credit. as its usuary and the system relies on credit. When this occurs a reset of currencies has to happen. They go to war during these resets to cover for the financial system collapse. Thing s will be going downhill fast.

Everything ebbs and flows throughout history. Rates, mortgages, etc. are all interconnected around the world. It'll rebound in a few years' time. A couple of hard years ahead, then it should ease off. The two wars should be finished by then. There may be a third one in the near future which could create further heart ache or be the catalyst to a two currency system. BRICS backed currency taking on the petro dollar. But, unfortunately this is what the greedy fat cats at the top want, so their revenue streams stay fat and healthy. Interesting times ahead.

Get in with a few good inner city domestic builders doing architectural work. You’ll have work for life and you’ll end up being a top tradie. You’ve done amazingly well so far. These bumps and stresses will toughen you up mate. In short, get off the new estate stuff, you’ll never look back.
