It's not his wife. He's under extreme stress but is unaware. Probably his job, even if he enjoys it. Plus toss in the marriage, pregnancy and birth - all within 2 yrs, and that sent him over the edge. All that added weight takes some getting used to. So we need time to adjust from the single days when it was just us. As men, the buck stops with us. The bills, house, mortgage, medical, then bills upon bills, and even more bills. Bills known and unknown. Bills that sideswipe you out of nowhere. We shoulder the responsibility of failure, but rarely the joy of success. Just hang in there dude, you'll pull through. These cycles don't last forever. Just a phase.

I would take a different angle here. It seems to me he settled for someone he really never was all that attracted to. Now he is waking up to that and facing it he is having an “oh sht what have I done?” Moment and it’s on his subconscious every day. He’s feeling trapped. Can’t say I have much advice other than, take all steps to see if you can live with it. If you can’t then you have to minimize the damage

You see this more and more and more nowadays. I was almost guilty of it but it took the settlement to attack me before I realized nobody was happy. This needs to be mentioned more because the issues you encounter you look past instead of setting healthy boundaries.

Losing attraction 2 years in seems crazy to me. I lost attraction about 16 years in. My ex had put on a bit of weight. I let her know I was losing attraction and she started working out and we started hiking together and really having some in depth talks and it completely turned things around. I agree with giving up on porn but I don't think at all that's the issue. There has to be something else going on.

Most likely something emotional…. Although we are men, we also have to contain a deep emotional connection to an extent that we actually desire our wives. And unfortunately it deteriorates with the deep baggage of emotional instability our wives put on us after marriage. This is where their levels of happiness and selfishness have to be at the right points for them to be receptive and be emotionally stable.

When you co-habitate with a woman for an extended period of time, your testosterone levels go down. He needs to start weight training regularly, get enough sleep, and eat right (no seed oils, no grains, no processed foods, no vegetables that are high in endocrine disrupting plant chemicals). I agree 100% but the longer you're in a relationship say 20+ yrs, the less critical sex becomes, If your relationship was only built on a physical attraction for each other it won't last, shit happens in life that will require you to work as a team to get through it and sex often takes a back seat. Appreciate that Rich brings up porn, people underestimate its power. I know I did. Rich also brought up other good solid facts about testosterone levels changing. Something I didn’t hear Rich cover yet was that men in general have lower testosterone levels in the past decades. Even so, the Dynamics change after marriage and children, so efforts from both husband and wife are important.

The situation strikes me as they both now need to be proactive with their love life. Where before it was organic attraction, now they are familiar with each other so need to put in advanced work to rev each other up. Other videos I've watched talked about working on the arousal aspect a good twelve hours in advance. Obviously he needs to drop the porn. I'd add that he and his wife should both be exercising and this fella pushing on some weight and the wife losing the ten lbs. She should start wearing sexy outfits starting around dinner time (for a while till the kid gets older), and he should start initiating minor contact with her, then keep it going towards an early evening in the sack. Organic attraction to proactive purpose.
